Former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has provided clarification regarding his decision to step down from office.
In a formal resignation letter addressed to the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, Gwarzo explained that his departure was entirely voluntary and driven by a desire to ensure that the administration continues to function smoothly without unnecessary interruptions.
According to him, the decision was not taken lightly but came after extensive reflection and consultations with relevant stakeholders. He confirmed that his resignation officially takes effect from March 27, 2026, emphasizing that it was a carefully considered step.
Gwarzo further noted that his action was motivated by a strong commitment to preserving peace, maintaining stability, and protecting the broader interests of the people of Kano State. He highlighted that stepping aside at this moment would help reduce potential tensions and allow governance to proceed without avoidable distractions.
