Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small (Proverbs 24:10). As Christians, we don’t faint in the day of adversity; we win, we reign, we prevail over every storm. Your strength is not small because the Lord Himself is your strength: “God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect” (2 Samuel 22:33). 1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” You hail from God; therefore, your strength is of God: “Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God” (2 Corinthians 3:5 AMPC). Can you see why you can never be hamstrung, defeated, or disadvantaged? Stay ever conscious of who you are in Christ, especially of your righteousness in Him. That consciousness produces a divine audacity in the face of adversities; you walk right over them! You consume challenges like bread. When you know you’re righteous, nothing and no one can intimidate you; be it Satan, guilt, condemnation, or adversities. That’s because you understand that you stand in Christ’s stead and function in His Name. That consciousness gives you the audacity to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, knowing that nothing shall by any means hurt you. Therefore, dominate sickness, demons and death. When you pray, do so with the confidence and assurance that you’re being heard. Speak with authority. Let your life exude the confidence of divine authority. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for making me righteous and granting me boldness through the Holy Spirit. You’re my strength, and I reign in life by the power of righteousness. I live fearlessly, walking in divine authority and confidence. My words are filled with power, and my actions are full of grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. I have the divine right to live in health, prosperity, joy, victory, success, dominion and excellence. I am a child of God, born of the Word, which lives and abides forever. I no longer live by blood but by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God tabernacles me and He makes my body alive. Christ is glorified in my body. I live in health and strength always. The Lord is the strength of my life! Even if I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, because He’s with me. His rod and His staff comfort me. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21). From our opening scripture above, we observe something really extraordinary about our righteousness in Christ: It’s a product of divine exchange. When the Lord Jesus took your place on the Cross, He became sin for your sake, not a sinner, but the sacrifice for sin. He took up your sinful nature for you to become righteous with His righteousness. That is the greatest transaction in history. It’s for this reason that we say the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the Gospel of substitution. God made the Lord Jesus, who knew no sin, to become sin for you so that you might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This was perfectly legal. The Lord Jesus fulfilled all the righteous demands of justice. 1 Peter 3:18 says, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God….” Since it was perfectly legal for the One who knew no sin to become sin in our behalf, it was perfectly legal for the sinner who never did anything right to be declared righteous in His Name. Now, God sees you in Christ as holy, blameless and justified. Romans 4:25 says the Lord Jesus was delivered to death for our offences, and was raised back to life for our justification. Therefore, your righteousness isn’t a product or function of your moral efforts or good works. It’s also not something you grow into; it was imparted to your spirit the moment you were born again, giving you right standing with God and the ability to do and live right. Hallelujah! Having this understanding changes everything about your walk with God. It gives you boldness in prayer and in your confessions. You no longer approach God as a sinner seeking mercy, but as the love-child of a loving heavenly Father, reigning by grace through righteousness. Walk in this consciousness. Refuse to let guilt or condemnation rob you of fellowship with the Father. You were justified freely by His grace; therefore, stand boldly and reign in life through Jesus Christ: “For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17 NIV). Hallelujah! CONFESSIONI’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and I live in the consciousness of this truth. I have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Jesus Christ. Sin, guilt and condemnation have no power over me, for I reign in life by grace through righteousness. Hallelujah! Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD …To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts… (Hebrews 3:15). God speaks to us through His Word and by His Spirit, but not everyone responds rightly to His voice. When you hear God’s Word, He expects a response. Your response activates His power and brings His Word to life in your situation. In the days of Samuel, God called him repeatedly, but Samuel didn’t know how to respond until Eli taught him to say, “…Speak, LORD, for thy servant heareth…” (1 Samuel 3:9). Once Samuel responded correctly, God began to talk to him. Likewise, when you respond to God in faith, His voice becomes clearer, and His presence manifests more strongly in your life. Never take the Word of God lightly. Each instruction, correction, or prompting of the Spirit requires a faith-filled response. So, to every Word from God, you say, “Yes, Lord,” and act accordingly. Not responding to God’s Word quickly can weaken your ability to hear from Him. But when you train your spirit to act promptly on the Word, the Spirit of God floods your heart with light, direction and grace. So always be quick to respond in faith whenever you receive God’s Word, whether during your personal study, prayer, or as a prophecy. Oftentimes, His voice may sound gentle, but it carries divine power. PRAYERDear Father, as I respond to your Word with faith and love, I’m tremendously blessed; my heart is flooded with your grace and truth, and I experience continuous progress and increase by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world… (John 15:19). The Lord Jesus said you’re in the world but not of the world. You’ve been handpicked by God and separated from the world to live the divine life, to live and play by a different set of rules. You’re a child of the Kingdom; therefore, you’re to live in this world with Kingdom mentality. Rule and reign over the systems, elements, structures and circumstances of this world. This world is subject to you; the words of the Lord Jesus in John 16:33 make this very clear. He said, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” When He overcame the world, you were in Him. He overcame the world, not for Himself but for you. Therefore, in Him, you’ve overcome the world and the god of this world, Satan. You’re superior to Satan, his cohorts of darkness, and the corrupting influences of this age. You belong to a royal class. You’ve been brought into a higher realm of existence, with dominion and excellence. When others complain about their circumstances, you bring solutions. You’re not part of the crowd demanding change; you’re the one effecting changes through your words and prayers. You have a Father who’s greater than all, and He lives in you; you represent Him. Therefore, never think or talk like the ordinary man. Understand who you are; your calling is to reveal God’s excellence and righteousness to your world. You’ve been set as a light in a dark world. You’re Heaven’s best; chosen, royal and supremely blessed: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9 AMPC). PRAYERDear Father, thank you for choosing me out of the world and setting me apart for your glory. I’m conscious of my divine origin and heavenly calling. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life… (1 John 5:11-12). Eternal life isn’t just about living forever; it’s the God-life in you; the organic and existential attributes of deity in you, which makes you taxonomically different from the natural man. This life makes you superior to Satan, sickness, disease, failure, and death. The Lord Jesus didn’t come to give us religion; He came to give us the God-life (John 10:10). In John 10:27-28, He said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish….” When you have eternal life, you’re severed or separated from those who could perish. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Eternal life makes you indestructible and invincible. It makes you a partaker of the divine nature. As one who’s born again and has received the God-life, you’re hundred per cent divine despite having a human body. Your body is the outer casing for the real you, your spirit, wherein is the life and nature of God. That’s the reason your body is impacted by the power and glory of the God-life in you. Another beautiful truth is that you’re a distributor of that life—the God-life in you. Anything and anyone you touch comes alive because you’re born in the image and similitude of the life giver, the Lord Jesus Christ, the second and last Adam (read 1 Corinthians 15:45-47 ESV). As He is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). You’re a life-giver, a minister of life. Wherever you go, you bring healing, peace and transformation. When you lay your hands on the sick, the life in you flows out of you to bring restoration. When you speak words of faith, life is transmitted into every situation. You’re of a higher class, a divine species, chosen and separated by God to manifest His life, glory and righteousness in the earth. Hallelujah! Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned (Matthew 12:37). Words are powerful; they’re tangible spiritual instruments of creation. God created the universe by speaking, and being made in His image, you have His creative ability. Your words are much more than sounds; they carry spiritual substance. They frame your life and rule your world. Your life rises or falls to the level of your confessions or your mouth-work. When you speak in line with God’s Word, you set in motion the divine laws of success, prosperity, and victory. Conversely, when you speak words of fear, doubt, or defeat, you give room to the adversary. The Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs 18:21). 1 Peter 3:10 says, “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile.” To refrain your tongue from evil is to refuse to speak anything that contradicts the Word of God. It means to speak the Word only and always, irrespective of the sensory evidence or perception. Every time you speak, release faith, not fear; life, not death; and victory, not failure. Your mouth is the control centre of your destiny. Don’t wait for situations to change before you speak; speak the change you want to see. Declare who you are in Christ, what you have, and what you can do through Him. Your words are divine tools for rulership; rule your world with your words. You’re a king, and kings reign with words. Ecclesiastes 8:4 says where the word of a king is, there’s power. Kings make decrees, and the Bible says you shall decree a thing, and it shall be established unto you (Job 22:28). Use your mouth to issue the right decrees about your life, your health, your family, your future, your environment and your destiny. Hallelujah! CONFESSIONMy words are full of power and life. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing (Isaiah 10:27). The blessing of God works in your life irrespective of where you are or who’s against you. It doesn’t matter that the environment is hostile or friendly towards you; you’re a success everywhere you go. God ordained you to be fruitful everywhere and in every place; fruitful at all times. Hallelujah! The anointing comes with grace (Ephesians 4:7). This is your heritage as the seed of Abraham. Opposition becomes your opportunity, and adversity turns into your advantage. There’s a supernatural force at work in you and in your behalf that alters conditions in your favour, making you fruitful in every good work as you increase in the knowledge of God. The word “anointing” in Isaiah 10:27 also means “fatness.” It conveys the idea of fruitfulness, growth and unstoppable increase. You “enlarge” so much that the “yoke,” any limitation or restriction around you, is broken. The blessing makes you so prosperous that what once constrained you can no longer contain you. The testimony of Isaac, as revealed in Genesis 26:12-18, is a case in point. He sowed in a time of famine and reaped a hundredfold the same year, so much so that the Philistines envied him. His increase defied the economy, logic and human comprehension. The same blessing, and even greater, is at work in you today. It’s working in your finances, your health, your ministry, and every area of your life, creating the right conditions for your success. The blessing in you perfects things around you. Speak words of faith; act on the Word, and let the power of the blessing manifest. It’ll make the impossible possible and the barren fruitful. Furthermore, Psalm 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” This is your life; be ever conscious of this reality. CONFESSIONThank you, Lord, for I’m blessed and empowered to prosper. The blessing at work in me, creates opportunities and favourable conditions for my advancement. Nothing can limit my progress, for I’m anointed for greatness and increase. I’m growing, expanding and flourishing every day, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ (Ephesians 4:7). There’s a vital distinction between grace and the anointing. Many use both terms interchangeably, yet the Word of God shows they’re not the same. The anointing refers to the consecration and indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, the empowerment that sets you apart for God’s purpose. Grace, on the other hand, refers to the divine enablement and favour granted you according to your specific calling and responsibility in the body of Christ. Every Christian has received the same anointing, for it’s the same Holy Spirit that dwells in us all. That anointing abides in you, never diminishes and brings special grace into your life “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it” (Ephesians 4:7 NIV). However, grace operates differently. You can grow in grace (2 Peter 3:18), the grace on your life can be multiplied (2 Peter 1:2), and you can receive more grace, as the Bible says, “…he giveth more grace…” (James 4:6). Yes, He gives more grace, but He doesn’t give more anointing. You can grow in grace as you grow in faith, in the knowledge of God and revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace determines your scope of influence and effectiveness in the calling God has given you. Recognise, therefore, that while your grace can increase, your anointing is complete. You already have the fullness of the Spirit. Live with this understanding and allow the grace of God in your life to multiply through your knowledge of God and fellowship with the Word. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for giving me your Spirit without measure and for the grace to fulfil my divine calling. I walk in the understanding that I’m fully anointed and empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish your purpose for my life. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17). Did you notice from our opening scripture that righteousness is a gift from God? It’s not something you’re going to work out or attain by your good works or “performance.” Rather, it’s a gift you have to receive. It’s been given to the whole world, but have you received it? You’ve got to receive it if you haven’t done so; all you have to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and say, “Lord, I accept and receive your righteousness. I confess that you’re Lord of my life, believing in my heart that God raised you from the dead. Amen.” He makes you as righteous as Himself because what He gives you is His own righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” Also, Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Notice it didn’t say being justified by how much money you have or how much you struggle to please God. Rather, it says being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. What is it to be justified? It means to be declared righteous. It actually means to be declared not guilty, discharged and acquitted. How gracious the Lord is! He acquitted us; so, what about our sins? Before we were born again, they were washed in His blood; when we believed and confessed His Lordship, we became new creatures without a past and thus justified. Hallelujah! Then He tells us something remarkable that happens with those who receive this gift of righteousness: they reign in life: “…much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness…reign as kings in life…” (Romans 5:17 AMPC). In Christianity, we’re not victims, paupers or beggars. In true Christianity, we reign in life by Jesus Christ. He gave us His Name to live by; so, we live and walk in His Name, reigning by grace through righteousness. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness by which I reign in life through Jesus Christ. I live triumphantly every day, walking in your righteousness, excellence, and exercising dominion over Satan and the systems of this world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew]… (Ephesians 2:10 AMPC). Have you ever thought about the fact that you’re God’s consummate man? He made you without any form of defect, limitations or inhibitions. You’re His excellently crafted masterpiece, perfect and complete. This is God’s perfect will; this is what He had in mind when He made you, and this is what’s on His mind today. Hebrews 10:14 says, “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” That’s you; you’ve been perfected forever, and you can’t improve on perfect. Hallelujah! Even David understood this and said in praise to the Lord, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psalm 139:14). When God looks at you, He sees a consummate you; nothing missing, nothing broken. It reminds of the Scripture that says, “…whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it…” (Ecclesiastes 3:14). Whatever God does stands the test of time. His works are perfect. His works are eternal. When He created you, it wasn’t part of the plan for your kidneys, your heart or your lungs to fail or for you to have a blood condition. It wasn’t part of the plan for your body to be bruised or mangled by sickness, disease or infirmities. You were perfected in health because there’s a perfection to the work of God. Genesis 1:31 says, “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good….” Notice what it says: God saw everything that He had made, and He said they were very good, not partially good. You must see yourself in this light. You’re consummate; that means you’re excellent, perfect, ideal, flawless, complete, supreme, whole. You’re replete with everything good, godly and divine. It helps you understand why the Bible says you’re complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). This is why you must stand your ground and refuse to be sick. Refuse to be a failure or a victim in life. Walk in dominion and supremacy over Satan, his cohorts, and circumstances of this world. You’re God’s peculiar treasure, perfected in righteousness and holiness. Glory to His Name forever. PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for fashioning me in excellence and perfection. I’m your consummate workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD …That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority…(Ephesians 1:19-21 NIV). The Lord Jesus, when He was raised from the dead, was enthroned far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this present age but also in the one to come. He has the supreme authority in all the universe. But guess what? He raised us together with Him and seated us together with Him. This is because, according to the Scriptures, when Jesus ascended to heaven and sat on the right hand of God, which refers to the place of power, dominion and authority, we were in Him. Therefore, we’re seated together with Him in the place of power and authority. We’re enthroned to reign. Ephesians 2:6 AMPC says, “And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).” It explains why He gave us His Name to live by, to use in the earth: because in heaven He represents us. We stand in Jesus’ stead and enforce the will of the Father here on earth. He said in Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” In Matthew 10:8 NKJV He also said, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons….” So, exercise your authority and dominion in Christ over sickness, disease, death and the elements of this world. Live and operate from the very seat and presence of divine power. In Christ, you’re in the place of the greatest influence. The forces or elements of this world may want to exert their negativities on you and get you to believe or act contrary to the Word. But you must maintain your composure and reign over them in the Name of Jesus. Christianity is a life of reigning, and we reign through words. This consciousness and understanding changes how you pray, speak and make decisions. Don’t react to Satan’s antics; instead, dictate outcomes. Speak with divine authority because you occupy Christ’s seat, functioning with His divine power. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for raising me up with Christ and seating me together with Him in the place of power, dominion and divine authority. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him… (Daniel 6:3). In the Kingdom of God, excellence is our culture. We don’t strive for excellence; we do excellent things. Excellence is the nature of the Father, and because we’re born of Him, we express that same nature in everything we do. Excellence distinguishes you; it positions you above mediocrity and gives you the advantage that skills alone can’t give you. Daniel’s elevation above his peers wasn’t based on mere skills, politics or connections; it was the spirit of excellence in him: “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm” (Daniel 6:3). That same spirit is in you because the Holy Spirit lives in you. Excellence is about character, consistency, and distinction in your work and attitude. God didn’t call you to be average; He anointed you to shine, to show forth His glory: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9). 2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” You were called to glory and virtue; virtue means excellence. So, whether in ministry, business, academics, or in your daily life; manifest excellence. Let it reflect in your vision, speech, appearance, the way you execute tasks, and in your punctuality. Manifest precision, diligence, and distinction. Don’t excuse mediocrity. Excel. Give your best, not because men are watching, but because you represent the Kingdom. You’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and excellence is part of righteousness. Every task is an opportunity to express that divine excellence. Therefore, be detailed, diligent, dependable, and exceptional. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the spirit of excellence working in me by the Holy Ghost. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD …he that winneth souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30). In our previous study, part of what we learnt was the importance of the right strategies in soul winning. Don’t continue with the same activities that yield no results. Adjust your approach from time to time, following the guidance of the Spirit. At times, the venue of the meetings could even be the problem. A simple shift in location or format of your meetings could make a significant difference. Also, evangelism may sometimes cost money, and that’s okay. So plan your outreaches like they’re important events. Imagine you were planning a professional or business dinner or breakfast meeting; you’d likely not leave anything to chance. Likewise, ensure all the fine details are captured when planning your outreach programs. Dress well. Create a joyful atmosphere and make everything inspiring. And here’s a vital key: invite the right people, people who are prospects for salvation and discipleship, not those who are already Christians and deeply committed in other churches. Also, avoid reciprocal invitations that may likely pull you out of your place of worship. Just because someone attended your program doesn’t mean you must attend theirs. It’s best to stay rooted in your church and be committed. There’s no glory in being unstable or hopping from place to place. Soul winning is not just about the act; there’s also the wisdom behind it. That’s why the Bible says he that wins souls is wise (Proverbs 11:30). So, be discerning. Be led by the Spirit. And most importantly, be committed to your church family and its evangelistic missions. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the wisdom and divine strategies to reach the lost. I’m effective in soul winning, wise in my approach, and fruitful in results. I live by the Word always and declare that its mighty power is at work in me as I meditate on it and observe to do what it says. In me abides all the grace, wisdom, prosperity, strength and courage I need to fulfill my glorious destiny in Christ! I have everything I require for life and godliness; therefore, I walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel, today and always. I’m what God says I am, I have all He says I have, and I can do all things in His Name. I reign as a king in this life, changing situations and circumstances in my favour. I make decrees and they’re established, for the Word of God on my lips is God talking! I’ll never be discouraged or subject to the crippling principles of this world, because I reign and rule by the Word. Christ has brought perfection and excellence into my life. I am prospering exceedingly, manifesting the righteousness and dominion of Christ everywhere. I’m continually filled with the Spirit of God. I have the life and nature of God in me; therefore, I’m an overcomer and more than a conqueror. I live in Christ, where divinity reigns. I reign in prosperity with peace, health, and an abundance of wealth. I enjoy the supernatural life that God has given me, in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Amen. Speak in tongues.
