Son Allegedly Helps Two Men Attack Mother in Adamawa Midnight Robbery

A 20-year-old man is among three suspects arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command over an alleged midnight robbery in which a woman and her children were attacked at their home in Yola.

The incident, according to the police, occurred in Wuro Kuturu, within the Jimeta axis of Yola, in the early hours of Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Police said the victim’s son, identified as Aminu Adamu, allegedly conspired with Adamu Mamman, 22, and Nuhu Umar, 22, to carry out the attack on the family residence.

Police allege son was involved in the attack

According to the Adamawa State Police Command, the suspects allegedly entered the residence around midnight while armed with dangerous weapons.

The police said the attackers robbed the victim and her other children of N200,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a power bank before leaving the premises.

The alleged involvement of the victim’s son has become a central part of the police investigation, as authorities said he was among the three people arrested following a report made by the victim.

All three suspects are residents of Wuro-Kuturu, according to the police.

Arrest came two days after the robbery

The suspects were arrested on Thursday, September 17, two days after the reported incident.

The arrest was carried out by operatives attached to the Karewa Area Command, following the complaint lodged by the victim.

Police said several items were recovered during the operation, including a knife, pliers and scissors. Authorities also reported recovering substances suspected to be hard drugs and quantities of Indian hemp.

Suspects allegedly confessed

Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, said the suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation.
