Notice carefully the choice of words as inspired by the Spirit in the scripture above: Christ Jesus was made sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. This is much more than being made righteous; rather, it means that we’ve become the very expression of His righteousness. This is Christianity. This is the Gospel. We’re the expression of God’s goodness, His kindness, grace, wisdom, power and glory. We’re the expression of His personality; everything the Father is, and represents, is expressed in and through us. The Lord Jesus made a profound statement when He said, “…he that hath seen me hath seen the Father…” (John 14:9). In John 10:30, He also said, “I and my Father are one.” He expressed the will and nature of the Father. He’s described for us in Hebrews 1:3 as the express image of the Father, the facsimile, print-copy or profile of the Father, the ultimate icon of God. We’re exactly like Him. 1 John 4:17 says as He is, so are we in this world. Like Jesus, we’re the expression of the will and character of God. That’s one of the definitions of righteousness: it’s the expression of the will and nature of God. Therefore, having been made His righteousness, we have the ability to manifest and express the will and nature of the Father everywhere: in every situation, in every event, and in every matter. PRAYERDear heavenly Father, I thank you for making Christ Jesus, who knew no sin to be sin for me, that I might become the expression of your righteousness, endowed with the ability to manifest and express your will and nature in all things. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High God, and I function with the ability of the Spirit always. Christ is my divine immunity. He is my defense and fortress. Satan has nothing in me because I am full of the Holy Spirit at all times. The environment in which I live is Christ. Here, there is no health scare, infection, or pandemic. No matter what happens to those in the world, I stand firm in faith, and I enjoy my glorious life now. I bask in the provisions of Christ for my life, health, and all that concern me. I walk in supernatural strength, supernatural health, supernatural supply, and supernatural abilities every day. My progress is unstoppable because I cannot be limited by sickness, disease, or the negativities of the ordinary life. As Jesus is above all things, so am I. The Holy Spirit has beautified my life. He brings colour into my life. I live a wonderful, colourful, beautiful, and productive life. The glory of God is beaming out of me with intensity. The Lord is my beauty, He is my sweet attractiveness. I am divinely enabled to see, think, say and, to do things that ordinary men cannot do. I am sagacious. God didn’t give us His Word just so we agree with it; it was given to us to use. The Bible tells us that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. How did He do it? It was with words. He spoke creation into existence. God’s Word is God’s creative material. When He says something, it becomes; whatever He says manifests. And He created us to look like Him and function like Him. The most important part of your life is your ability to use words. Maybe you didn’t know it, but words define your life. Words define your value. Words define your personality.You are no better or greater than your words. Your life is the expression, manifestation, and reflection of your words. It doesn’t take long to know who a person is; all they have to do is speak for a few minutes. Your words locate you; they reveal where you are; they shape your life. Consider how Jesus used words. His words carried power, wisdom and authority. He changed circumstances and transformed lives with words. Crowds gathered, thousands of people thronged Him, just to hear Him speak. When He calmed the storm, the disciples were astonished and said, “…What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!” (Matthew 8:27). His authority over nature left them in awe, as they witnessed His power to command the elements with words. When He commanded demons to come out, the people said in amazement, “…with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out” (Luke 4:36). The Pharisees talked about demons, but Jesus spoke to the demons with authority. He rehearsed to us how to use words. He said in Mark 11:23, “you shall have what you say.” So be a master of words. Have faith in your words, for the Word of God in your mouth is God talking; it’ll prevail and produce what it talks about. Hallelujah! I am alive and full of strength and vitality. I am indestructible and no sickness can thrive in my body. I walk in victory and dominion over diseases and the forces of this world every day. The example of Moses in our theme scripture is what God expects of us. He wants us to be identified with Him and esteem our calling in Him much more than the wealth, fame and comfort that the world could offer.Your union with Christ is the greatest thing; it’s far greater than anything money can acquire. That’s why it’s important that you know who Christ is in your heart and believe in Him with your spirit. The knowledge of who you are in Him and your glorious heritage in Him will inspire in you an extraordinary boldness and confidence such that the whole world will mean nothing to you. Pleasing Him in all things, and fulfilling His destiny for your life, becomes all that you care about. Recall the Spirit’s prayer through Paul for the Christians at Colossae: “For this reason…We continually ask God…that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way…” (Colossians 1:9-10 NIV). Moses didn’t live in Jesus’ day, but he had a revelation of his calling and identity with the saviour, because when you identify with Him, you become a saviour. And that’s what Moses became. The Bible says through him, God delivered (saved) the children of Israel from Egypt. Going to confront Pharaoh to let God’s people go was at the risk of his life but he esteemed that assignment beyond any resultant peril. He was dauntless, forsaking Egypt—the world—and all it represented. Let nothing matter or mean more to you than living for Christ. The Bible says, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:15). Live to please Him. Remember, you’re a saviour from Zion; you were saved to save others. Identify with Him in His passion for soul winning. Esteem His call upon your life—the call to win souls and lead men into salvation—more than the treasures of this world. Additionally, the fees collected at the departmental level for the ongoing semester are not close to N10,000, as some had claimed. Student Reactions to the Allegations Several students have dismissed the claims, stating that the school management has not imposed such exorbitant fees. According to Kingsley Eze, a student of the Faculty of Arts: “No, students are not being charged N10,000 for dockets. I have heard that some departments require as much as N2,500, but in my department, we only paid N500 for the docket, and even that is optional.” When asked whether students who refuse to pay these fees would be denied entry into the examination hall, Eze responded: “Not at all.” Understanding the Semester Dues A 300-level student from the Faculty of Management Sciences, who chose to remain anonymous, provided insights into the dues students are expected to pay. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The most beautiful part of the Gospel is not only that Jesus bore our sins and sacrificed Himself for us, but that He gave us something in return—eternal life. One of the most well-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16 and it says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This means anyone who believes in Jesus Christ receives eternal life. It’s a guarantee! The moment you believe in Jesus, you have it. You don’t have to wait for it or hope for it; you have it immediately. John 6:47 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” It’s not a promise of something to come in the future. If you believe, you already have it! Often, I ask people, “Do you believe in Jesus?” and some would say yes. Then I’d say, “Did you receive anything when you believed?” I found that most weren’t sure. They weren’t taught that something extraordinary happened as a result of their believing in Jesus. The Master was clear: “…He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” 1 John 5:11-12 says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” Notice the tenses: if you have Jesus Christ, you have eternal life. So, don’t pray for eternal life. The 13th verse is absolutely remarkable; it says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13). God wants you to know that you have eternal life. This knowledge changes everything. When you know that you have eternal life, it impacts the way you live. You no longer live in fear or uncertainty but in confidence and victory. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I walk in the consciousness of this life, living boldly and confidently, knowing that I am secure in Christ. When you study the Synoptic Gospels—Matthew, Mark and Luke—you’d observe different perspectives to the Lord’s instruction with respect to the preaching of the Gospel. However, one theme stands out: The Gospel is to be preached to every man, woman, boy and girl; it’s for all nations. Mark gives us a clear structure for our mission as read in our opening scripture. The disciples went forth and preached everywhere; they did their part, and the Lord did His part by confirming the Word they preached with signs. This makes our responsibility clear: We preach the Word, and it’s the Lord’s responsibility to confirm it with signs following. In Luke 24:46-47, we see another significant aspect of the Master’s instructions. Luke, who had a deep understanding of the events surrounding Jesus’ ministry, adds a crucial point about the content of the Gospel that we’re to preach: repentance and remission of sins, “…Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” While Matthew emphasized teaching all that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:19-20), and Mark focused on preaching the Gospel which the Lord confirms with signs (Mark 16:19-20), Luke gave us the full picture. The Lord’s message was not just to teach or preach but to declare repentance and remission of sins among all nations. The early disciples initially kept the message within the Jewish community. They may have thought the Gospel was only for the Jews scattered among the nations, or perhaps they misunderstood the global scope of the Lord’s command. But the Gospel was always meant for all nations, for every creature (Mark 16:15). This revelation became clear through discussions like those recorded in Acts 15, where they finally embraced the full scope of the Lord’s mission. Today, we carry that same mission, teaching all that Jesus commanded, preaching the Gospel to every creature and to all nations, declaring repentance and the remission of sins in His Name. And the Lord continues to work with us, confirming His Word with signs following. Praise God! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for confirming your Word with signs, blessings and miracles as we, your children, all go forth and preach your Word today. Many receive salvation and are converted as your Word comes to them in the power of the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Christ is my all; I’m complete in Him who is the head of all principality and power; there’s no shortage in my life. I’m full of ideas, inspiration, with wealth, prosperity and all the blessings of the Kingdom; and out of that abundance, I impact my world. I am complete in Christ Jesus, and I’ve been perfected through my union with Him. I’ve been created for good works and predestinated for the good life; there is nothing wrong in my body. I’ve got everything I require for an excellent life. The Holy Spirit has brought the glory of God into my life, giving me guidance and direction; He makes me creative and innovative. He’s filled me with supernatural ability to do things beyond the ordinary; I see value where others don’t; I bring new things into this world. I have insight into mysteries and secrets through the Holy Spirit. I’m Spirit-ruled and Word-governed. I see through the Word, understand by the Word, and renew my mind with the Word. This initiative, aimed at strengthening tax compliance, was announced by the acting executive chairman of FCT-IRS, Michael Ango, in a circular on Sunday. According to Mr. Ango, HNIs are defined as individuals with an annual passive income, business earnings, or employment income of ₦25 million or more in any financial year. Call for Voluntary Compliance FCT-IRS has identified over 10,000 high-net-worth individuals with combined incomes in the trillions of Naira. Taxpayers within this category are being urged to fulfill their tax obligations and settle any outstanding liabilities within two weeks. Mr. Ango emphasized the importance of voluntary compliance, stating: “We believe it is in our mutual interest for taxpayers to comply voluntarily. Notices have been sent to these individuals, and we expect timely responses. Failure to comply will lead to the application of legal provisions to recover outstanding liabilities.” Support for Infrastructure Development The initiative is aligned with the Federal Capital Territory’s commitment to improving infrastructure under the leadership of Nyesom Wike.
