According to Tijani, collaboration between the police and the public remains essential in curbing the spread of cult-related activities. He stressed the need to proactively address electoral violence as the election season approaches. He also highlighted the critical role of families and community figures in guiding young people, who are often the most vulnerable to recruitment into such harmful activities. He further explained that educating youths and children about the risks and long-term consequences of cultism and violence is necessary to prevent their involvement. Community-based awareness and mentorship were identified as key strategies in reducing these social threats. The Commissioner reiterated that maintaining peace and order cannot rest solely on the shoulders of the police. He described security as a shared duty, noting that every individual has a role to play in ensuring a safe environment. According to him, the distinction between citizens and officers lies only in uniform, as everyone ultimately seeks a secure society. In addition, Adigun Ibrahim, representing the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos Chapter, pointed out the increasing influence of cultism, hooliganism, drug abuse, and human trafficking among youths.
