Prophet Isa El-Buba Urges Nigeria To Prioritise Security As Killings And Kidnappings Persist

Prophet Isa El-Buba, the founder of Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministry International (EBOMI), has called for immediate and coordinated efforts to address Nigeria’s growing security challenges, warning that the nation’s future remains threatened if the protection of citizens is not treated as a top priority.

The cleric made the appeal during the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Black Sunday observance, where he expressed concern over the continued attacks, loss of lives, displacement of communities, and the fear affecting families across different parts of the country.

According to El-Buba, the worsening security situation requires collective responsibility from government authorities, religious institutions, traditional leaders, and citizens.

Security Must Come Before Politics, Cleric Says

Speaking at the event, El-Buba argued that national development and democratic progress cannot be achieved in an atmosphere where citizens feel unsafe.

He maintained that political activities and elections should not overshadow the urgent need to secure lives and communities.

“Before politics, before elections, before personal interests, we must secure the lives of Nigerians. No security, no election,” he stated.

The cleric said the continued violence has affected families, disrupted communities, and created uncertainty among Nigerians who are concerned about their safety and future.

Call For Stronger Response Against Criminal Networks

El-Buba appealed to government institutions and security agencies to intensify efforts against criminal groups responsible for attacks and kidnappings.

He urged authorities to improve protection for vulnerable communities, restore confidence in security systems, and ensure that citizens are not left helpless.

The EBOMI founder also called on Nigerians to unite beyond religious, ethnic, and political differences, stressing that insecurity affects everyone regardless of background.

Religious Leaders Should Promote Peace And Accountability

The cleric criticised corruption, injustice, greed, and misuse of authority, describing them as factors that weaken society and contribute to instability.

He encouraged religious leaders to continue serving as voices for justice, peace, and moral responsibility.

El-Buba also urged Christian and Muslim leaders to work together in rejecting violence and preventing the misuse of religion as a justification for criminal activities.

Appeal To President Tinubu

The cleric made a direct appeal to President Bola Tinubu, urging stronger leadership and decisive measures to tackle insecurity and assist victims of kidnapping.

He said Nigerians should not remain silent while communities continue to suffer, calling for sustained action until safety is restored across the country.

The Black Sunday service, themed “When The Land Bleeds: The Responsibility of the Watchmen and the Citizens,” featured reflections based on biblical passages including Ezekiel 33:1–9, Isaiah 59:14–16, and Proverbs 24:11–12.

The event brought together religious leaders and stakeholders who highlighted the need for unity, justice, and citizen involvement in rebuilding peace.
