Liverpool manager Arne Slot has strongly criticized Newcastle United’s style of football during their Premier League clash on Monday night at St James’ Park.
The Premier League champions nearly lost control of the game after letting go of a two-goal advantage, but eventually secured a hard-fought 3-2 win against the Magpies.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Slot didn’t hold back his thoughts on Newcastle’s tactics.
“I’m not too sure if I saw a football match today. It was set-piece after set-piece, long throw,” Slot remarked.
He further explained that the game had little tactical display from Newcastle’s side, yet he praised his team’s determination and mental strength to push through the challenge.
“It didn’t have a lot to do with tactics, what I said before the game, but I liked a lot how we stood strong. Very difficult first half hour, 45 minutes, but we didn’t collapse at all, we stood strong,” he added.

This victory highlights Liverpool’s ability to remain composed under pressure. It also shows the growing influence of young talents like Ngumoha, who is quickly becoming a player to watch in the Premier League title race.
