The race for the highest goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 season is becoming more intense as the competition moves into the quarter-final stage scheduled for April.
At the moment, Kylian Mbappé, who plays for Real Madrid, is still holding the number-one position on the scoring chart with a total of 13 goals, making him the current leader in the Golden Boot race.
This update comes after the conclusion of the Round of 16 matches, which determined the eight clubs that successfully qualified for the quarter-final fixtures.
The teams that progressed to the next stage include Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint‑Germain, Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC, Sporting CP, Atlético Madrid, and FC Barcelona.
These clubs will compete in April as the tournament moves closer to the semi-final stage.
Despite strong competition, Mbappé remains ahead of other top strikers.
Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United and Harry Kane of Bayern Munich are currently tied in second place, each having scored 10 goals in the tournament so far.
Other players are also still in the race, although they are a few goals behind the leaders.
Julián Álvarez representing Atlético Madrid and Erling Haaland from Manchester City have both scored 8 goals, keeping them within reach as the competition continues.
In addition, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia playing for Paris Saint‑Germain and Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray have each recorded 7 goals, placing them among the top seven scorers ahead of the quarter-final matches.
