2027: Alia’s Aide Resigns After Key Meeting With SGF Akume

Governor Hyacinth Alia’s Special Assistant on Youths and Media Mobilization, Atu Terver Joseph, has officially stepped down from his position in the Benue State Government.

Atu submitted his resignation letter to the Secretary to the Benue State Government, expressing gratitude for the opportunity given to him to serve under Governor Alia’s administration.

In his resignation message, Atu appreciated the trust and confidence placed in him during his time in office, describing the experience as valuable and meaningful.

“I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve under your administration and the confidence reposed in me.

“I am appreciative of the experience gained and I wish your Excellency continued success in the service of Benue State,” he stated.

However, the former aide did not reveal the specific reason behind his decision to leave the government position.

His resignation has generated attention among political observers, especially following his recent engagement with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, amid preparations and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Shortly before announcing his resignation, Atu shared details of his meeting with Akume on his official Facebook page.

The former aide described the SGF as a highly influential Benue politician and praised his leadership influence and personal qualities.

According to Atu, the meeting was a special moment where he visited the former Benue State governor on June 12.

He described Senator Akume as “the most powerful Benue man alive” and expressed appreciation for the warm reception he received.

Atu wrote that the encounter helped him understand the reasons behind Akume’s continued rise and influence in Nigerian politics.

He also offered prayers and good wishes for the SGF, asking for continued success and favour in his public service journey.
