Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is reportedly set to serve a one-game touchline ban after being found guilty of violating UEFA disciplinary regulations.

The German tactician will be absent from the sidelines during Barcelona’s opening fixture in the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League league phase, as the punishment takes immediate effect.

According to a report from Marca (via BarcaUniversal), Flick, along with his assistant Marcus Sorg, received sanctions stemming from incidents during the previous Champions League campaign.

Both Flick and Sorg have been banned from participating in one UEFA club competition match and were each fined €20,000.

The disciplinary action is linked to a breach of Article 11 of UEFA’s Disciplinary Regulations, which covers violations of basic rules of decency and general principles of conduct. The governing body determined that the pair had verbally insulted or strongly protested against matchday officials.

Flick’s misconduct was specifically tied to his reaction following Barcelona’s semi-final defeat to Inter Milan in last season’s UEFA Champions League, where he was accused of insulting the referees.
