Tinubu Confers with APC Governors as Party Gears Up to Appoint New National Chairman

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu engaged in a crucial meeting on Wednesday night with state governors elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) umbrella.

Sources close to the development suggest the meeting is directly tied to the APC’s forthcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) gathering scheduled for Thursday.

During this pivotal session, President Tinubu is anticipated to relay his official stance to the party’s governors concerning internal leadership matters.

At the heart of the NEC meeting lies the pressing task of selecting a new National Chairman to replace Abdullahi Ganduje, who vacated the position in June.

Following Ganduje’s resignation, the Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori, stepped into the role in an interim capacity.

While political analysts have speculated that the NEC might formalize Dalori’s position and provide him with a definitive period to organize a formal convention to elect a permanent party leader, alternative viewpoints suggest President Tinubu could nominate a permanent chairman during the same meeting.
