Tragic Road Accident Leaves 28 Dead in Ondo State A devastating auto crash at Onipetsi, along the Ore-Lagos highway in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has claimed the lives of 28 passengers, who were burnt beyond recognition. According to the Ondo State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Commander, Samuel Ibitoye, the fatal accident occurred due to excessive speeding and traffic violations, leading to a head-on collision between two vehicles at Mile 49 on the expressway. Only Two Survivors in Critical Condition Commander Ibitoye confirmed that out of the 30 passengers involved, only two survived and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital. He emphasized the importance of safe driving practices and urged passengers to always caution drivers against reckless behavior. Road Safety Officials Urge Caution Speaking on the tragic incident, Ibitoye stated: “The contract between drivers and passengers is to ensure safe arrival at their destinations—not to drive them to their graves.
