The Lagos State Police Command has officially confirmed the unfortunate death of a 45-year-old electrician who was electrocuted while attempting to reconnect power cables to an electric pole in the Shasha area of Lagos State. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, August 10, at around 11:30 a.m., has thrown the community into mourning. Police Statement on the Tragic Event The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed the details in a statement released on Sunday in Lagos. According to Hundeyin, the electrician met his untimely death while working on live electricity cables connected to a pole in Shasha. “The electrician lost his life while reconnecting electricity cables to an electric pole at Shasha,” the police statement read. Emergency Response and Hospital Confirmation Immediately after the tragic event was reported, police detectives and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. The victim was quickly rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital. Sadly, despite medical efforts, he was later confirmed dead by the attending doctor. Police Investigation Underway The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
