The Kulosa hitmaker explained that during the early stages of his career, he was fortunate to receive mentorship from Fireboy, which he described as a life-changing experience. According to Oxlade, Fireboy’s exceptional skill in songwriting set a benchmark for him and helped him refine his creative process. Oxlade noted that Fireboy’s mastery of lyrics and composition, often referred to in the music industry as a strong pen game, remains unmatched in Nigeria’s contemporary music scene. “When it comes to songwriting, nobody can touch him [Fireboy]. I learned how to properly compose music from Fireboy because he was already miles ahead of me at the time,” Oxlade shared during a recent livestream interview with popular Nigerian streamer Shank Comics.
