President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extolled the virtues of his long-standing associate, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, describing him as the enduring conscience of Nigeria and a revered elder statesman. Tinubu praised Yakasai during his condolence visit to the family of the late business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, in Kano State on Friday. Recall that Dantata passed away in June while in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and was laid to rest in the Islamic holy city of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Dantata was widely known as a towering figure in Northern Nigeria and a distinguished industrialist whose impact on the region’s economic development remains indelible. While addressing those present, President Tinubu said: “Our respected father and dear friend, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, thank you. You stand tall as an elder, the leader of a national movement, and indeed, the moral compass of our nation.” President Tinubu also reflected on the life of the late Aminu Dantata, portraying him as an exceptional philanthropist whose legacy is marked by his generosity. According to Tinubu, Dantata was a benevolent figure frequently seen in marketplaces, ensuring that the less privileged were fed.
