The Abia State Government has once again issued a strong advisory to residents, urging them to stay away from free medical outreaches that do not have official approval from the state authorities. This warning is part of ongoing efforts by the government to safeguard public health and prevent residents from falling victim to unsafe medical practices. According to the state government, several unregulated medical activities are being carried out across communities under the guise of free healthcare services. These activities, officials say, pose serious health risks, especially when conducted by individuals or groups without proper authorization, training, or medical certification. In addition to discouraging participation in unapproved medical outreaches, the government also cautioned citizens against seeking medical attention from unqualified practitioners, purchasing drugs from unauthorized vendors, or consuming food products that do not meet safety standards. These practices, the government noted, could expose residents to severe health complications. The warning was delivered by the Abia State Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing held at the Government House in Umuahia. The briefing followed the State Executive Council meeting, which was chaired by Governor Alex Otti. While addressing journalists, Kanu emphasized that the government remains deeply concerned about the growing circulation of fake drugs and substandard consumables within the state. He explained that such products could cause long-term damage to public health if residents are not vigilant. The Commissioner further advised the public to exercise caution during the festive season, stressing the importance of responsible eating and drinking habits. He also encouraged residents to maintain proper hygiene practices, especially during celebrations, to reduce the risk of preventable illnesses. The Abia State Government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of its citizens and urged the public to always verify the authenticity of medical services before participating in them.
A prominent global Pan-Igbo organization, Ndi Igbo World Union (NIWU), has called on all Igbos across the world to unite and participate in the October 20 freedom march demanding the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). According to the group, the planned march represents a peaceful demonstration of solidarity, unity, and a collective call for justice for the IPOB leader, who has been in custody for several years. The association emphasized that the peaceful protest aims to remind the government of the continuous demand for Kanu’s unconditional release and to draw attention to the plight of many Igbo citizens who believe that their rights have been undermined. Speaking on behalf of the organization, a spokesperson from Ndi Igbo World Union explained that the movement was not a violent or unlawful act but a legitimate expression of the people’s demand for freedom and fair treatment. The statement urged Igbos both at home and in the diaspora to support the event and demonstrate their solidarity in a peaceful and organized manner. The group noted that the October 20 march is expected to take place simultaneously in several cities across Nigeria and globally where the Igbo community is strongly represented. Organizers are encouraging participants to maintain discipline, ensure non-violence, and carry out the march in accordance with established legal and civic guidelines. They further stated that unity among Igbos is essential now more than ever, stressing that only through collective action can justice and fairness be achieved. Ndi Igbo World Union reaffirmed its dedication to promoting peace, human rights, and dialogue between the Nigerian government and the people of the South-East region. The call for participation has been gaining attention on social media and within Igbo forums worldwide, as the group’s message continues to resonate among the people who share the vision of a fair and just resolution to the ongoing matter surrounding Nnamdi Kanu’s detention. For years, the detention of Nnamdi Kanu has remained one of the most debated political and human rights issues in Nigeria. Many human rights organizations, such as Amnesty International, have previously called for his fair trial and the respect of his constitutional rights. The Ndi Igbo World Union’s current movement further highlights the growing concern and the urgency to find a peaceful solution. As the date of the freedom march draws near, more Igbos are expected to join the call, ensuring that the demand for justice is heard loud and clear both nationally and internationally.
A Nigerian public affairs analyst, Dickson Iroegbu, has strongly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for failing to attend the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80), an event regarded as one of the most critical diplomatic gatherings in the world. During an interview on Prime Time, a popular programme on Arise Television, Iroegbu expressed disappointment, stressing that this was the second consecutive time the president had been absent from UNGA, a platform crucial for advancing Nigeria’s political and economic interests on the global stage. According to him, while it is constitutionally acceptable for Vice President Kashim Shettima to represent the president, the absence of the Nigerian leader at such a prestigious global meeting undermines the seriousness with which Nigeria is perceived internationally. “Yes, Vice President Kashim Shettima can represent him, but the importance of such a meeting of heads of state demands the president’s personal presence. Nigeria cannot afford to be casual about global engagements that affect our future,” Iroegbu said. He emphasized that although the vice president delivered his official speech at the assembly, Nigeria’s credibility in the international community should not be separated from the situation at home. “The global community knows the realities within our country. We cannot project values internationally that we are unwilling or unable to uphold domestically. This contradiction weakens our standing and influence,” he added. Iroegbu specifically referenced the two-state solution, a central theme discussed by the vice president at the assembly. He questioned the sincerity of Nigeria’s stance on international issues, highlighting the contradictions between what is preached abroad and what is practiced at home. “For instance, the two-state solution that the Vice President talked about—who exactly are we fooling? At home, we clamp down on our citizens for making such demands. This double standard is obvious to the world,” he remarked. The analyst concluded by urging Nigerian leadership to prioritize international diplomacy with the seriousness it deserves, arguing that consistent presidential presence at platforms like UNGA is vital for securing Nigeria’s strategic global interests.
Renowned Nigerian performer and social activist, Charles Oputa, widely recognized as Charly Boy, has shared the background story behind the naming of the iconic Charly Boy Bus Stop in Lagos—an area recently renamed by local authorities. During an interview on “The Morning Brief”, a breakfast show aired by Channels Television, the entertainer recounted how the bus stop located in the Gbagada axis of Lagos was originally named in his honor back in the early 1990s. According to Charly Boy, the naming was a gesture of appreciation from the residents for his consistent contribution to the local community. He explained that the recognition stemmed from the deep connection he had with Gbagada residents during that period. His philanthropic efforts, which impacted people across different sectors of society—including military veterans, commercial motorcyclists, pensioners, and students—led the locals to name the bus stop after him as a token of gratitude. “There was a time I actually lived near that bus stop,” Charly Boy recalled. “During the early 90s, those who were living around Gbagada decided it was appropriate to name the bus stop after me due to the value I added to the community.” He elaborated further: “Many categories of people—okada riders, pensioners, military personnel, and even ordinary citizens—benefited from me in various ways. I gave out scholarships to help young people further their education. I don’t usually like to brag about what I’ve done or haven’t done, but I really did my best for that community when I was still residing there. That’s why they honored me by naming the place ‘Charly Boy Bus Stop.’” In a related development, LMSINT MEDIA notes that the Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) recently made headlines after renaming the legendary Charly Boy Bus Stop in Lagos in favor of indigenous hip-hop star and record executive, Olamide.
Overview: A wave of dissatisfaction is sweeping across Nigeria’s agricultural sector as local farmers voice deep frustration over the federal government’s growing support for food imports—especially rice and maize. This comes after a significant dip in market prices for these staples, largely due to import waivers that have flooded local markets with foreign grains. Farmers Cry Out Over Import Surge Across social media and agricultural forums, many Nigerian farmers have openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policy, which they say is undermining local grain cultivation. Using platforms like X (formerly Twitter), they argue that the administration’s decision to approve mass food imports—particularly of rice and maize—is threatening the survival of indigenous agriculture. What’s Causing the Price Drop? The decline in rice and maize prices across Nigeria is no accident. The root cause, according to local producers, is the 150-day import duty waiver introduced by the federal government in July 2024. This policy allowed for the duty-free import of essential staples including rice, maize, and other food items, leading to a surge in foreign alternatives and a drastic drop in prices. According to Nigeria Customs Comptroller-General, Bashir Adeniyi, this policy significantly contributed to price reductions in the first quarter of 2025. Market Realities: Local vs. Foreign Prices A market survey conducted by LMSINT MEDIA revealed the following: This pricing gap makes it almost impossible for local farmers to compete, thereby shrinking their profit margins and pushing many to consider abandoning cultivation altogether. Rising Fertilizer Costs Deepen the Crisis The farmers’ woes don’t stop at imports. Many are also grappling with a sharp rise in fertilizer prices, which has increased the cost of production. This means even with reduced earnings from their harvests, they are paying more to produce. Expert Opinion: Prof. Oyedokun Warns of Policy Fallout Speaking with LMSINT MEDIA, Prof. Godwin Oyedokun of Lead City University, Ibadan, stressed that the growing preference for imports over local production has severe long-term consequences. “Favorable import policies result in market oversupply, driving down prices and severely affecting local farmers who cannot compete,” he explained. Oyedokun emphasized that ignoring these concerns could derail the nation’s food security and economic stability. He recommended a multi-step approach: Solutions for Sustainable Local Agriculture ✅ Incentivize Local Farming The government must provide financial support, credit access, and agricultural technology to encourage local grain production. ✅ Implement Import Tariffs Introducing or increasing tariffs on imported rice and maize could help local producers gain a competitive edge. ✅ Quality Assurance Enforcing strict quality standards on imports would increase consumer confidence in Nigerian-grown grains. ✅ Enhance Market Access Farmers should be given better access to structured markets where they can sell at fair prices. ✅ Farmer Training and Education Equip local farmers with modern farming techniques to boost productivity and reduce dependence on imports. What This Means for Nigeria’s Economy While the policy may offer short-term relief in food prices for consumers, its long-term impact on local agriculture could be devastating. A balanced approach is necessary—one that considers both consumer affordability and the sustainability of domestic food production. Inflation Report: Mixed Signals Despite the dip in general inflation, food-related inflation remains a concern. According to recent data from LMSINT MEDIA in June 2025: This contradiction highlights the instability of food pricing and the urgent need for sound agricultural policies. Conclusion: Farmers Need a Voice in Policy-Making Nigerian farmers are not just resisting change—they are fighting for survival. If the government continues to sideline local producers in favor of foreign imports, the nation could face serious agricultural and economic setbacks. Policymakers must engage directly with stakeholders in the farming community to co-create solutions that ensure both affordability for consumers and profitability for local producers.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). One of the ways to keep your body permanently in health is praying in the Holy Spirit; giving your physical body frequent Holy Ghost doses. The Bible says, “…If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” (Romans 8:11). This means the Holy Ghost vitalizes, energizes and rejuvenates your body. As you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit will stir up in you the Word of God that’s in your spirit. Soon enough you’ll find that you’re pacing the floor, declaring, “I am of God; I’m born of God; the greater One lives in me; He permeates every fibre of my being, every bone of my body, and every cell of my blood. He fills my head, my hands, and my feet. He perambulates my heart, my blood, my lungs, my kidneys, my eyes. I am saturated with God! Hallelujah!” Do this today and every other day; speak in tongues with your mind focused on the power of God coursing through your being. Then keep declaring, “My body is invigorated with supernatural strength, and I am energized by the power of the Holy Spirit. Sickness has no power over me because I have taken hold of eternal life. I am not moved by symptoms or circumstances because my faith is the victory that overcomes the world. I live in victory every day. Hallelujah!” Stir up yourself in the Holy Ghost like this, speaking in tongues and declaring God’s Word until your whole body vibrates with the power of God and your spiritual atmosphere is charged with divine energy. That way, you’ve regulated things in the realm of the Spirit. It makes no difference whatever may be happening around you or the sickness that may be plaguing others; you’re unmoved because you’re strengthened and energized by the Holy Ghost, filled with divine might and ability to dominate the forces of darkness and tame circumstances. PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit who vitalizes my body and saturates my entire being with divine power. I’m strengthened and energized, filled with might and ability. I walk in health, dominion and victory every day, full of power, and full of glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. In a strategic move aimed at reinforcing the Nigerian Army’s commitment to human rights and professional discipline, the Army Headquarters (AHQ), through the Department of Civil-Military Affairs (DCMA), has hosted a crucial sensitization workshop for personnel of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State. Held on Thursday in Jalingo, the event is part of the Army’s broader initiative to promote lawful military engagement and ensure that all troops conduct internal security operations with respect for human dignity and constitutional mandates. Delivering his keynote address, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs (CCMA), Major General GU Chibuisi, emphasized that the workshop was timely and essential in preparing soldiers to operate within the evolving dynamics of national security threats. “These operations demand more than tactical expertise — they call for ethical responsibility. Our personnel must fully understand the legal frameworks that guide their actions. Upholding human rights is not optional; it must be central to all our engagements,” Major General Chibuisi stated. He stressed that the objective of the sensitization extends beyond the battlefield. It aims to shape soldiers into disciplined, responsible citizens who reflect integrity and serve as moral role models within the wider society. Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, the Commander of 6 Brigade and Sector 3 OPWS, also addressed the troops. He reiterated that the training underscores the Nigerian Army’s unwavering dedication to professionalism and human rights protection. According to him, the unit’s composure and restraint during recent national protests — where zero casualties were recorded — stands as a testament to their maturity and adherence to ethical conduct. “This sensitization isn’t just routine—it’s a powerful reminder of our sworn duty to protect lives and property. I commend the DCMA for initiating this important exercise and urge all troops to take these lessons to heart,” General Uwa said. In his remarks, he also praised the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, for his continued focus on troop welfare, capacity enhancement, and consistent professional development across all Army units.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has strongly denounced the recent suicide bombing executed by Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents in Konduga Local Government Area. In an official statement released to the press by his media aide, Dauda Iliya, the governor expressed his deep concern over the latest assault targeting innocent civilians. The tragic incident, which unfolded late yesterday around 10 p.m., occurred at a night fish market in Konduga. The attack resulted in the loss of 12 lives, while 18 other individuals sustained injuries. Governor Zulum described the atrocity as a grave violation of humanity. “These savage actions carried out by the insurgents are not only cruel but represent a direct affront to our collective humanity,” he stated. He further emphasized, “This brutal and cowardly attempt to instill fear in the community will not succeed. The spirit of Borno’s people remains unbroken and will never yield to terrorism.” The governor urged citizens across Borno to stay alert and promptly report any unusual behavior or movement to security operatives, noting that collaboration between the community and law enforcement remains essential in curbing insurgency. Governor Zulum also extended heartfelt sympathies to the affected families, asserting that all compassionate citizens in the state share in their grief and loss. He concluded by assuring residents that the state government continues to work hand-in-hand with security agencies to enhance public safety and thwart further attacks.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26 NKJV). Life is full of decisions—some simple, others life-changing. At times, you may find yourself at a crossroads, unsure of what to do. There’s an opportunity open to you, and you’re wondering, should I take it? What’s the best step forward? The good news is this: the Holy Spirit knows the details! Consult with Him and He’ll give you the perfect guidance you need. Ponder again Paul’s beautiful and inspired words in Romans 8:26 as quoted in the theme verse. The Holy Spirit, knowing all things, knowing the will of God and the mind of the Father, makes intercession for us—not from outside but from within. He prays in you and through you, helping you when you don’t know what to pray for or how to pray. There’s so much you don’t know about situations, people, and even about your own future. But the Holy Spirit knows and understands the fine details; things about your life, the things beyond human perception, and He intercedes for you accordingly. Imagine having someone who knows exactly what you need and praying in your behalf with divine accuracy. That’s the ministry of the Holy Spirit! But here’s the key: if you don’t pray in the Spirit, you won’t experience this divine help. You can’t just sit around, sighing and waiting for life to happen, crossing your legs, shifting in your seat, or even shedding tears; that won’t change anything! Someone might even pray, “Dear Father, my case is dire, please pity me.” The Lord has already pitied you—that’s why He sent Jesus and gave you the Holy Spirit. Look at what the Bible says: “Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you were unpitied, but now you are pitied and have received mercy” (1 Peter 2:10 AMPC). Did you see that? He’s done everything necessary for your success. The question is, will you take advantage of it now that you have the Intercessor within you? When you pray in the Spirit, you align yourself with God’s perfect plan. Instead of confusion, you receive clarity. Instead of struggling in uncertainty, you walk in divine precision. Even now, take some time to pray in the Spirit; speak in tongues and stir up the Spirit within you. Glory to God! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit, who enables me to pray effectively and accurately. I am never helpless or confused because the Holy Spirit guides me in all things. I function with divine wisdom and supernatural ability, effecting changes in my life and circumstances. I walk in the fullness of your provision and live triumphantly every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). There’s a difference between the Holy Spirit coming upon you and the Holy Spirit dwelling in you. From the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2, the reason for the Holy Spirit coming upon anyone was to take up residence within them. And that’s what has happened with us. In the Old Testament, He came upon people to enable them to fulfil a specific purpose for a particular time. Various individuals experienced this, including Elizabeth, upon whom the Holy Spirit came and she was filled with the Holy Ghost: “And it came to pass, that when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost” (Luke 1:41). The Holy Spirit also came upon Samson, empowering him to accomplish mighty feats, but he was not filled with the Holy Ghost: “And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand…” (Judges 14:6). Now, as one who has received the Holy Spirit, you have been endowed with power to accomplish extraordinary things. The Bible declares, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” (Acts 1:8). The word “power” here is from the Greek “dunamis,” meaning the dynamic ability to cause changes. Consider the significance of this: God says you have received the ability to effect changes. Why then should you remain in an undesirable situation, crying and pleading with God to intervene about things you can change? So, go ahead and effect a change. After receiving the Holy Spirit, the apostles lived in the reality of His indwelling presence. Each one of them operated in the supernatural. That’s the same life He’s given you. Being filled with the Holy Spirit, you’ve been endued and equipped with divine ability to effect changes and walk in the supernatural every day PRAYERDear Father, thank you for filling me with the Holy Spirit and empowering me with divine ability to effect changes in my world. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Here’s my concern: that you care for God’s flock with all the diligence of a shepherd… (1 Peter 5:2 MSG). In the previous study, we reviewed the importance of complete evangelism. When you lead someone to Christ, you should keep track of their journey in Christ. Two years later, for example, you should still remember them and keep praying for them. Consider keeping a diary of the people you lead to Christ, and you’ll be amazed at how long that list will become over time. As you lead people to Christ, encourage them to do the same. Tell them, “When you lead someone to Christ, let me know. You can send me their names and addresses. I’ll be praying for them.” As your list grows, take time to bow your knees before the Father and pray for everyone on your list. The Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, said in Galatians 4:19, “My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you.” Pray like this for those whose names are on your list. Be strategic with your intercession for them, that they be established in the faith, doing the will of the Father, active in the work of the ministry, and bringing glory to God always. Pray also for other new converts whom the Lord has added to the church, that they be established in the Word, firmly rooted and grounded in the faith, and that the Lord is perfecting His work in their lives for His glory. Pray for them to be more and more passionate, committed and fearless labourers of the end-time harvest, and that through them, more souls receive the Gospel gladly and are converted to the Kingdom. In John 17:12, Jesus said, “…those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost….” This should always be your testimony concerning all those you lead to Christ or those whom the Lord adds to your local assembly through your evangelical efforts. Remember that evangelism has to be a conscious effort. It must be a sincere and personal ministry; it’s not a one-time event. It is a continuous, deliberate effort to bring others into God’s Kingdom and follow them up until they’re nurtured and grounded in the Faith. Overview: Minister Idris Refutes Misleading Media Report on Borno Security The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has firmly denied claims that Minister Mohammed Idris downplayed the security crisis in Borno State, following a misleading report by an online publication. In a press statement released by Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister, the ministry labeled the headline claiming Minister Idris said, “Ignore Zulum, Boko Haram is not taking over Borno,” as false, sensational, and deliberately distorted. This clarification aims to reaffirm the Federal Government’s ongoing anti-terrorism efforts, particularly in regions like Borno State still facing insurgent threats. Minister Idris Reaffirms Government’s Anti-Terrorism Stance According to the official release, Minister Idris acknowledged that while significant progress has been made in restoring national peace, some areas still grapple with security challenges, including Borno State. “The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully committed to eradicating terrorism and banditry,” said the Minister. “We recognize the situation in Borno and continue to focus resources, intelligence, and military strength to restore lasting peace.” This strong stance counters any media narratives suggesting otherwise. Call for Unity and Collective Responsibility Minister Idris stressed the need for cooperation among federal, state, and local authorities, as well as other security stakeholders, in addressing Nigeria’s complex security landscape. “Rebuilding peace is not a task for one arm of government. It requires unity, commitment, and the involvement of all stakeholders,” he said. This statement mirrors sentiments expressed in President Tinubu’s national address where he emphasized security as a top national priority. Appeal for Responsible Journalism The Ministry also addressed the negative impact of sensational headlines, urging journalists and media outlets to adhere to ethical standards and publish only verified, accurate reports. “The fight against terrorism must not be undermined by reckless media coverage. Sensationalism distracts from the efforts of our military and security forces,” the statement concluded. Conclusion: Federal Government Is Not Ignoring Borno, But Tackling Terrorism Head-On Minister Mohammed Idris’ clarification reinforces the fact that the Federal Government is actively addressing the security situation in Borno State. Rather than ignoring the issue, it is deploying comprehensive strategies and calling for a unified front against terrorism. As misinformation continues to cloud public perception, it is vital for the media to maintain truthful reporting and for citizens to stay informed through credible sources.
