Osun Amotekun Nabs Okada Rider for Allegedly Raping 35-Year-Old Woman at Gunpoint

The Osun State Amotekun Corps has apprehended a commercial motorcyclist accused of raping a 35-year-old woman while allegedly threatening her with a gun. This was revealed in a statement issued on Friday in Osogbo by the spokesperson of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Yusuf Abass. According to the statement, the 29-year-old suspect is said to have committed the crime at his residence situated in the Alusekere Area of Ede. The victim narrated her ordeal to the Amotekun operatives, explaining that the suspect tricked her into visiting his house under the guise of assisting her in finding her missing child. Upon her arrival, the suspect allegedly pulled out a locally fabricated pistol and a knife, wielding both weapons to threaten and eventually sexually assault her by force, the spokesperson said. In a related development, Abass also disclosed that the Corps apprehended a bricklayer for allegedly vandalizing and stealing electrical wiring from an uncompleted building in a new development site in Osogbo. Abass explained that the bricklayer, who was engaged to work at the construction site, exploited his access after work hours to perpetrate the theft of the electrical components.
