She referenced a ruling delivered by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja as the legal foundation for her planned return to plenary. Despite her assertion, the leadership of the Senate, through the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, issued a rebuttal on Sunday. In his statement, Adaramodu downplayed the claim made by Senator Natasha, stressing that the court judgment she referred to was not binding. Instead, he described the ruling as “an advisory opinion” rather than a compulsory mandate for the Senate to reinstate her. Nonetheless, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan remains adamant about her decision to resume her senatorial responsibilities despite the Senate’s stance. Meanwhile, a viral video currently circulating on various social media platforms shows a significant increase in the number of security operatives, including heavily armed personnel, stationed at the entrance of the National Assembly Complex. This action is presumably to forestall any potential breach of peace or public order that may arise from the senator’s controversial return attempt.
