Rhapsody of Realities July 17th 2025, THE TRUE GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life (1 John 5:20). The Lord Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life. That, indeed, is who the Messiah was supposed to be. Generations of prophets foretold His coming, and when Jesus came and declared Himself the Christ—God manifested in human form—many rejected Him, accusing Him of blasphemy. But He was right. Titus 2:13-14 NKJV refers to Him as our great God and Saviour who gave Himself for us: “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” No religious leader matches these credentials but our Lord Jesus Christ. All the leaders of various religions died and remained dead. Only Jesus Christ resurrected and ascended to heaven alive. It’s only His Name that has power to cast out devils, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and raise the dead. Furthermore, the remission of sins is only possible through Jesus Christ. Acts 13:38-39 NKJV says, “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” 1 John 5:11-12 NKJV says, “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” Jesus is the only one to give His life for all humanity; He gave His divine life so you could have eternal life. Now, because you’ve received Him, your natural human life has been supplanted by the God-life; you’re now born of God: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). He gave us eternal life because He’s Himself eternal life. Jesus is the true God and eternal life. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the revelation of the deity of Jesus Christ and the power in His Name. I live in the consciousness of His authority, exercising dominion over the forces of darkness and manifesting the victory of Christ in all that I do. I declare that my faith is effective, and through His Name, I enjoy unending success and righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDYJohn 14:6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 1 John 5:20 AMPCAnd we [have seen and] know [positively] that the Son of God has [actually] come to this world and has given us understanding and insight [progressively] to perceive (recognize) and come to know better and more clearly Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true–in His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). This [Man] is the true God and Life eternal. John 17:3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Transfer News: Jose Mourinho Eyes Surprise Marcus Rashford Signing at Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce’s head coach, Jose Mourinho, is reportedly plotting a surprise move to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, despite the player’s preference for a switch to Barcelona. According to a report by Turkish publication Hurriyet, Mourinho is enthusiastic about reuniting with Rashford. The two previously worked together during Mourinho’s tenure at Manchester United between 2016 and 2018. Fenerbahce Willing to Wait for Rashford The Turkish giants, under Mourinho’s leadership, are prepared to wait patiently until August to negotiate a more favorable transfer fee for Rashford. Currently, United are said to be demanding around £40 million, a valuation that could hinder any immediate agreement. Nevertheless, Mourinho appears determined to bring the 27-year-old England international to Istanbul. Even with the steep price tag, Fenerbahce are holding out hope for a possible reduction in the fee as the transfer window progresses. Rashford’s Future at Manchester United in Doubt Marcus Rashford, who was loaned to Aston Villa for part of last season, seems set to depart Old Trafford on a permanent basis this summer. His omission from Manchester United’s preseason squad by newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim further fuels speculation about his future. During his previous stint under Mourinho at United, Rashford amassed 28 goals and 20 assists across 125 appearances, highlighting his significance in the squad during that era. Barcelona’s Interest and Rashford’s Preference Despite Mourinho’s interest, Rashford is reportedly inclined to join Barcelona, a move that aligns with his career aspirations. However, Barcelona’s ongoing financial constraints could play into Fenerbahce’s favor, especially if the Spanish side is unable to meet United’s valuation. Conclusion Jose Mourinho’s ambition to sign Rashford adds an unexpected twist to the summer transfer market. While Rashford eyes a move to La Liga, Mourinho’s determination and Fenerbahce’s patience might yet orchestrate a shocking transfer coup.

FCT Police Refuse N1.5 Million Bribe to Free Alleged Kidnapper

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially confirmed the apprehension of one Yahaya Saleh, who allegedly tried to bribe police officers to secure the release of a suspected kidnapper currently under investigation. In a formal statement released by Josephine Adeh, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), it was revealed that Yahaya Saleh approached the police investigators handling the kidnapping case with a bribe of ₦1.5 million. His intention was to unlawfully influence the investigation and facilitate the suspect’s freedom. The police narrated that Saleh made direct contact with the investigation team, proposing the ₦1.5 million bribe to compromise the integrity of the ongoing inquiry. However, the officers handling the case rejected the illicit offer without hesitation and proceeded to activate the appropriate legal mechanisms. As a result, the suspect, Yahaya Saleh, was immediately arrested by the authorities for attempting to obstruct justice. PPRO Josephine Adeh emphasized that investigations are still underway as law enforcement intensifies efforts to track and apprehend other individuals linked to the criminal syndicate involved in the kidnapping operations. It is noteworthy that the FCT Command had recently captured several kidnappers who have been terrorizing various parts of Nigeria’s capital city. The security operatives remain committed to eradicating kidnapping and other forms of criminal activities in Abuja and its environs.

Why Atiku Abubakar Resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has officially withdrawn his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), attributing his decision to unresolved conflicts within the party and a clear deviation from the principles upon which the PDP was originally founded. In a resignation letter dated July 14, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of PDP Jada 1 Ward in Adamawa State, Atiku declared his immediate exit from the party. “This letter serves as my formal resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) effective immediately,” Atiku stated. Having held the office of Nigeria’s Vice President between 1999 and 2007, Atiku expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the PDP for the significant roles he played under its banner, including his two presidential bids. “Being Nigeria’s Vice President for two terms and contesting as a presidential candidate on two occasions under the PDP platform remains a pivotal part of my personal and political journey,” he wrote. “As a founding member of this respected party, making this decision weighs heavily on me.” Atiku emphasized that his resignation was necessitated by the PDP’s ongoing shift away from its original ideals and principles. “The party’s current path no longer aligns with the foundational beliefs we once shared, prompting my decision to sever ties,” he noted. “It is with deep regret that I tender my resignation, having acknowledged the insurmountable differences that now exist.” Despite his departure, Atiku extended his goodwill to the PDP and its leadership, wishing them success in their future pursuits while expressing gratitude for the years of support and collaboration. “I sincerely wish the party and its leadership prosperity moving forward. Thank you for the support and opportunities afforded to me over the years,” he concluded. The resignation letter was formally acknowledged and received by Hammardama Abubakar on July 14, 2025, marking the end of Atiku’s long-standing association with the party.

What Will Happen If Super Eagles Miss Out on the 2026 FIFA World Cup? – Ola Aina Speaks

Super Eagles’ versatile defender, Ola Aina, has expressed deep concern over the possibility of Nigeria failing to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Nottingham Forest player disclosed that he is determined to feature in the global tournament, especially after missing the last two editions of the prestigious competition. Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, has not made an appearance at the FIFA World Cup since 2018. That year marked their last participation, with the team crashing out at the group stage in Russia. The disappointment continued when the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after an intense two-legged playoff against arch-rivals Ghana. That match ended in heartbreak for Nigerians as Ghana progressed on away goals after a 1-1 aggregate score. Presently, Nigeria’s hopes of returning to the World Cup stage are hanging by a thread. The team currently occupies the fourth position in Group C of the African World Cup Qualifiers, trailing six points behind current group leaders, South Africa. With only four matches remaining, the odds are stacked heavily against the Super Eagles, and only an extraordinary turnaround could revive their qualification hopes. Ola Aina, who will celebrate his 29th birthday in October, reflected on his personal frustrations regarding past World Cup misses. Speaking candidly, Aina said, “I got shenked in 2018. That manager, Gernot Rohr, shenked me. I was supposed to go, but he did rubbish.” He recounted how managerial decisions cost him a place in the 2018 squad despite his readiness and form. Reflecting further on the 2022 disappointment, Aina emphasized his resolve not to miss the 2026 edition. He declared, “Then obviously we didn’t qualify in 2022. So this 2026, I’m putting all my energy into it. I need to go because if not, I think my World Cup dream is over.” He also hinted at the emotional and personal stakes tied to his ambition, saying, “I’ll be too old and I’m not trying to get in other people’s place, and it’s in the US. I need to be there. There’s four games left, and we need to win all.” For Aina and many Nigerian football enthusiasts, the 2026 World Cup represents a significant milestone. Not only will it be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, but it also offers a grand stage for players like Aina who have yet to experience the tournament’s magic. As the countdown continues, the question remains: Can the Super Eagles overcome the odds and make it to the 2026 World Cup, or will another generation of Nigerian stars watch from the sidelines?

Nicki Minaj Flaunts Global Success Amid Heated Social Media Clash with SZA

Renowned American rapper Nicki Minaj and acclaimed R&B singer SZA engaged in a fiery exchange on social media, specifically on X (formerly Twitter), on Tuesday night. The tension began when Minaj directed a sharp critique at Top Dawg Entertainment’s executive, TDE Punch, accusing him of persistent bullying. Shortly afterward, SZA posted a cryptic message advising an unnamed person not to fall for a provocation — a statement that Minaj interpreted as a direct jab at her. Nicki Minaj, interpreting SZA’s remark as a slight, didn’t hesitate to retaliate with harsh words. She insulted SZA’s appearance, describing her as “ugly,” and mocked her vocal talent by comparing her singing to “a dead frog.” In response, SZA maintained her composure and stated that she was unbothered by Minaj’s derogatory comments. She further clarified, in reply to a fan’s comment, that her earlier post was not targeted at anyone specifically. Despite SZA’s clarification, Nicki Minaj refused to relent. She intensified her criticism, proudly asserting her musical dominance over SZA. Minaj emphasized her global acclaim, claiming to have performed in regions where SZA is virtually unknown. In one of her tweets, Minaj expressed, “Wait. Does SZA actually believe she’s more successful than me? Lol, somebody catch me up please. SZA, if every single song you’ve released disappeared today, the music industry wouldn’t even notice. I’ve performed in countries where people have never even heard your name. Surely, you’re not that clueless, are you?” Minaj continued by boasting about her achievements, particularly her ability to headline massive events internationally. “Stadiums? Did you happen to see the venues I performed in during my headlined festival tour abroad last year? Have you ever performed before 80,000 people as the main act? All you’ve done is croon with auto-tune that still needed fixing. Listen, darling, I’m an icon — you’re not. Case closed. Also, pay that man who almost broke his back for you. And why didn’t you speak up when your executive was bullying and harassing me? You filthy, mangy [expletive]!” The heated back-and-forth between the two music powerhouses has further polarized their fanbases online, with many weighing in on the legitimacy of Minaj’s claims of global success over SZA. NSCDC Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Mining, Deploys Specialized Mining Marshals Across Seven National Zones

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the strategic leadership of Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has officially broadened its mining sector enforcement operations. In a decisive move to intensify the fight against illegal mining across the country, the Corps has decentralized its approach and dispatched specially trained Mining Marshals across seven distinct operational zones in Nigeria. This significant announcement was conveyed by CSC Babawale Afolabi, the National Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Headquarters in Abuja, through an official statement. Afolabi emphasized that the initiative is designed to fortify enforcement measures within the solid minerals sector while significantly boosting the Corps’ presence across all regions of the country. “In alignment with this strategic initiative, the Corps has commissioned a fleet of ten (10) operational vehicles tailored for rough terrains and swift mobilization. These vehicles are equipped to facilitate surveillance, intelligence-driven patrols, and tactical enforcement operations aimed directly at disrupting illegal mining activities across Nigeria,” the statement detailed. During the official commissioning event held at the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja, Professor Audi characterized the decentralization strategy as a bold and transformative operational reform. He asserted that the move is specifically designed to bring enforcement mechanisms closer to critical mining hotspots identified nationwide, thereby empowering regional response teams for enhanced operational efficiency. “By deploying Mining Marshals across all seven operational zones, we are elevating our capacity to decisively tackle illegal mining operations. These dedicated officers are not only trained but also well-equipped to engage in a manner that is both professional and lawful, ensuring the protection of Nigeria’s solid mineral resources from the grip of economic saboteurs,” said Professor Audi. The Commandant General further articulated that this strategic effort is in direct alignment with the Federal Government’s economic diversification policy. Additionally, it upholds the NSCDC’s statutory mandate to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, reflecting a robust commitment to safeguarding the country’s mineral wealth against exploitation by unauthorized operators.

2027 Elections: Uncertainty Looms as Tinubu and APC Forge Ahead Without Buhari

The burial of Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari took place in Daura, Katsina State, marking the end of an era in Nigerian politics. The ceremony, witnessed by national and international dignitaries, signified not just a personal loss for many but also a political vacuum within the All Progressives Congress (APC). Buhari’s dual legacy as both military Head of State and later a democratically elected president under the APC is now a historical chapter. While tributes continue to pour in, the APC, under President Bola Tinubu, faces the daunting task of navigating the 2027 general elections without Buhari’s significant political influence. Simultaneously, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is positioning itself as a formidable force through a coalition led by notable figures including Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El-Rufai, and Peter Obi. This opposition coalition is determined to dethrone Tinubu’s presidency in 2027. Historically, Buhari contested five presidential elections between 2003 and 2019, losing thrice before clinching victories in 2015 and 2019. In each contest, he consistently amassed approximately 12 million votes, a testament to his entrenched support base. Political analysts predict that Buhari’s absence will erode the APC’s dominance, given that he served as the party’s political anchor. Wahab Owokoniran, an APC chieftain and Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University of Transportation in Daura, acknowledged this imminent challenge. However, he expressed confidence in Tinubu’s strategic prowess, citing his nearly four decades of political bridge-building across Nigeria. During a Channels Television broadcast covering Buhari’s burial, Owokoniran remarked that although the APC might experience some losses, it would also gain new alliances, thereby maintaining its electoral strength. He emphasized that while Buhari’s political shoes are enormous to fill, nature abhors a vacuum, hinting that another influential northern leader could emerge to fill the gap. Supporting this perspective, Salihu Lukman, a member of the ADC coalition and former APC stalwart, stressed the need for northern politicians to adopt humility and direct engagement with citizens. Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Lukman pointed out that Buhari’s popularity, especially in the north, was pivotal in forming the APC merger and securing electoral victories. He criticized the complacency of politicians who relied solely on Buhari’s endorsements instead of genuine voter engagement. Public Affairs Analyst Nduka Odo from Peaceland University, Enugu, highlighted the potential downfall of the APC with key figures like Atiku, Amaechi, and El-Rufai now in the ADC. Odo contended that the APC’s internal fractures, exacerbated by past betrayals and unresolved grievances, have weakened the party’s cohesion. Odo noted that Buhari’s alliance with Tinubu, which brought together CPC, ACN, and factions of the newPDP to form APC, is now a shadow of its former self. The CPC and newPDP contingents have largely migrated to the ADC, leaving Tinubu to rely on his ACN roots. Odo warned that sustaining the legacy of Buhari’s political followership posthumously is fraught with challenges, notably the economic hardships Buhari’s administration inflicted on millions of Nigerians. The disenchantment among Buharists, worsened by Tinubu’s policies, threatens APC’s future electoral prospects. Additionally, Odo pointed to the jostling among northern political elites like El-Rufai and Atiku to become the region’s new political torchbearers. Complicating matters further, speculations abound that Vice President Shettima is being marginalized within the presidency, with rumors suggesting Tinubu might replace him ahead of the 2027 elections. The discord was evident during the APC North East convention, where Shettima’s sidelining was fiercely opposed. Moreover, Odo disputed the notion that Buhari’s consistent 12 million votes were solely his doing, attributing his victories to strategic alliances rather than personal popularity alone. The controversy deepened when Bayo Onanuga released a video crediting Tinubu and the ACN for Buhari’s presidential success, coinciding with Buhari’s burial day, sparking further debates about APC’s internal dynamics. In conclusion, the APC’s path to the 2027 elections is riddled with uncertainties. Unless deftly managed, Buhari’s demise could significantly diminish the party’s influence, creating an opening for the ADC coalition to capitalize on. READ ALSO:

Rhapsody of Realities July 16th 2025, THE REMARKABLE DEATH OF JESUS

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God (Mark 15:39). The death of Jesus was extraordinary and filled with supernatural events that also confirmed His deity. After being falsely accused, arrested, and crucified, Jesus hung on the Cross while the chief priests, scribes, and elders mocked Him (Matthew 27:42-43). Even the two thieves crucified alongside Him joined in the mockery (Matthew 27:44, Mark 15:32). Then, from the sixth hour (noon) to the ninth hour (3 p.m.), darkness covered the whole earth. This supernatural darkness lasted for three hours, signifying something beyond the natural realm. At about the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “…My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). This was the moment when the sins of the whole world were laid upon Jesus. The Father, who is too holy to behold sin (Habakkuk 1:13), turned His back, and Jesus, who had never been separated from the Father, cried out in anguish. This separation was the cup Jesus prayed about in the Garden of Gethsemane when He said, “…O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me…” (Matthew 26:39). It was not death He dreaded but separation from the Father, which was a result of Him becoming sin for humanity. The Bible says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Then, with a loud voice, He said, “…Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit…” (Luke 23:46). Jesus commanded His own death. He consciously and deliberately handed over His spirit to the Father. Jesus had earlier declared, “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again…I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again…” (John 10:17-18). When Jesus yielded up the ghost, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom, signifying the removal of the barrier between God and humanity, granting us access to the Father’s presence. Even the centurion overseeing the crucifixion, upon witnessing how Jesus died, declared, “…Truly this man was the Son of God” (Mark 15:39). The manner of His death testified of His divinity. Jesus’ death was no ordinary death. It was the ultimate sacrifice that brought salvation to all mankind. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the death of Jesus whose blood was the propitiation for sins. I rejoice in the finished work of Christ, knowing that He laid down His life for me and took it up again in victory. I live triumphantly, enjoying the benefits of His sacrificial love, now and always. Amen. FURTHER STUDYJohn 10:17-18Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. Luke 23:46-49And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. 48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned. 49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things. Matthew 27:50-54Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. 54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. I Pity Tinubu – Gov Dikko Radda Reveals Buhari’s Comment on Fuel Subsidy Removal

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has shared a significant conversation he once had with the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, reflecting on Nigeria’s challenging fuel subsidy policy and its removal under the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Governor Radda recounted that during a private discussion with Buhari, the former leader openly expressed sympathy for Tinubu, describing him as “brave” for daring to eliminate the longstanding fuel subsidy. Buhari reportedly told Radda that he pitied President Tinubu for boldly taking such a politically risky step, a move he personally found difficult to implement while in office. Buhari’s Words on Tinubu’s Bold Decision Speaking to a group of journalists during the funeral events in Daura, the governor narrated the exact words Buhari used: “Let me use his words: ‘I pity Bola (President Tinubu) for what he is doing. He is a brave man for removing the fuel subsidy. When I was president, whenever I made an attempt to remove the subsidy, a lot of people would give me too many reasons not to do so.But Bola did it immediately. If he had consulted people, he could not have removed the fuel subsidy now.’” This statement highlights the deeply entrenched challenges and political sensitivities surrounding the removal of the fuel subsidy in Nigeria, a policy that has long drained the country’s financial resources yet remained a volatile issue among the populace. Buhari’s Passing Leaves a Leadership Vacuum Governor Radda also lamented that Buhari’s death has left a significant vacuum in Nigerian leadership, particularly within the northern political landscape and the All Progressives Congress (APC). The late president, who passed away on Sunday in a London medical facility at the age of 82, was laid to rest on Tuesday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, amidst full military honours. His burial was attended by top political figures, dignitaries, and leaders from across Nigeria who came to pay their last respects. Buhari’s influence in shaping Nigeria’s political discourse, especially on national economic policies like fuel subsidy and governance reforms, remains undeniable. The Impact of Fuel Subsidy Removal on Nigeria’s Economy President Tinubu’s removal of the fuel subsidy has stirred both commendations and criticisms nationwide. While some experts and international observers, such as the World Bank, have applauded the policy as necessary for economic recovery and fiscal balance (World Bank Analysis), many Nigerians continue to face the harsh economic realities that followed the decision. The subsidy removal is projected to save Nigeria billions of dollars annually, funds which the government claims will be redirected towards infrastructure, health, and education. However, the immediate effects have seen a sharp rise in fuel prices, inflation, and general cost of living, making life more difficult for many ordinary citizens. Conclusion Governor Radda’s revelation of his conversation with Buhari adds a new perspective to the ongoing national debate on the fuel subsidy issue. It underscores both the political courage and the heavy burden President Tinubu carries in implementing deeply unpopular but economically essential policies. As Nigeria navigates these turbulent economic reforms, the nation watches closely how Tinubu’s administration manages the socio-economic consequences, striving to balance fiscal sustainability with public welfare.
