He urged them to embrace the principles of sportsmanship, fair competition, and magnanimity, noting that these values are the true foundation of a sustainable and vibrant democracy.

Earning with Transcription Services: How Nigerians Can Start (and Succeed)

Why transcription is a smart side hustle in Nigeria Transcription turns spoken audio (meetings, podcasts, sermons, interviews, YouTube videos, webinars) into clean, readable text. It’s remote, flexible, skill-based, and you can start with a modest laptop, reliable internet, and practice. Unlike hype-driven “get rich quick” tricks, transcription rewards skill, accuracy, and consistency—making it a realistic path to steady dollar income if you build up gradually and price your time well. What you actually do as a transcriber Honest earnings outlook (read this first) Transcription platforms often pay per audio minute/hour, not per your working hour. As a beginner, 1 hour of audio may take 3–5 hours of careful work; skilled pros who use shortcuts and great tools can get closer to 2–3× audio length depending on audio quality and accent. Typical platform pay (publicly listed/independently reviewed at time of writing): Takeaway: Platform beginner income is modest; your hourly earnings grow as you improve speed/accuracy, choose clearer audio, pass higher-pay tiers, and (best of all) land direct clients. The two main paths to get paid Skills that make you valuable Tools that boost speed (and protect your sanity) Pro tip: Even when using AI to rough-draft, bill yourself as a human-verified transcriber. Clients pay for accuracy, formatting, and judgment—things AI still misses in tricky audio. Use AI to speed up, not to replace you: run a draft locally if privacy is a concern, then edit like a pro. arXiv Frequently asked questions (quick wins) How fast should I aim to be?With practice and the right tools, 1 audio hour in 2–3 working hours on clear content is a solid target. Can I start on a phone? You’ll be much faster and more accurate on a laptop/desktop with a real keyboard and better playback controls. How do I handle accents?Slow playback slightly, use high-quality headphones, and replay tricky portions. Learn common accent patterns through practice; build a glossary for recurring terms. What file formats are best?WAV/PCM is ideal for quality; MP3/M4A is common and acceptable. Ask clients not to compress too much or record in noisy environments. Verbit Go

Rhapsody of Realities August 17th 2025, PERSIST IN PRAYER

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer is part of our priestly service or ministry as Christians. Therefore, you must be a man or woman of prayer. You must be persistent in prayer. This is sacrosanct. Certain things will not change until you pray, and that’s because of the power and effects of prayer. Revelation 5:8 reveals something powerful about our prayers. It says, “…the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” In the Old Testament, the Lord gave instructions to the priest to burn incense morning and evening in the Tabernacle. But the Bible says all that was a shadow of things to come (Hebrews 10:1). Many years later, the apostle John, by the Spirit, sees into the heavens and is shown this amazing truth: “…golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” When you pray in the earth, it goes before the Lord as incense. King David had a revelation of this; the Lord had guided him to understand that our prayers are actually set before God as incense. So he said in Psalms 141:2, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense….” Your intercessory prayers go up to God, topple the plans of the enemy and change things in the heavenly realm, resulting in positive changes in the earth. That’s why you should always pray. Our opening verse says, “Pray without ceasing.” Take prayer seriously and you’ll be amazed at the changes in your life and the greater influence and impact of the Holy Spirit in and around you. Whenever possible, separate yourself from everything else and pray. Speak in tongues at every opportunity you get. And if for some reason you miss your scheduled time of prayer, make sure you pray soon afterwards. James 5:16 AMPC says, “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” So, pray and persist in prayer. Don’t say, “I prayed yesterday; that should take me through the whole week”; no! The injunction is for us to pray without ceasing. The stakes are much higher than ever. Therefore, we must persist in prayer until the last soul that must be won is reached and brought into the Kingdom before the rapture of the Church. PRAYER*Dear Father, thank you for the privilege and power of prayer through which my spirit is aligned with your perfect will to walk in ever-increasing glory. My life is orchestrated by your Spirit, and I’m continually strengthened, guided and positioned for success. No situation is beyond me because I operate from a place of victory and triumph always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. In the name of Jesus Christ, I live triumphantly, over and above circumstances and the perils of this world. I live in perpetual peace, prosperity, health, success and greatness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Speak in tongues.

Manchester United vs Arsenal: Early Premier League Clash and Statement of Intent

The highly anticipated Manchester United vs Arsenal Premier League fixture is the highlight match of this weekend’s topflight football action. The league made its return on Friday after an 82-day break with Liverpool’s thrilling 4-2 victory over Bournemouth, setting the tone for an exciting new season. On Saturday, Manchester City produced a dominant 4-0 win over Wolves, while Tottenham Hotspur began their campaign strongly by defeating newly-promoted Burnley 3-0 under Thomas Frank’s leadership. Yet, all eyes are fixed on Arsenal’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday, a clash that promises intensity, passion, and an early marker for both sides’ ambitions this season. For Manchester United and Arsenal, this is more than just a game—it is a clear opportunity to make a statement of intent from the very start. Manchester United: A Fresh Start Under Ruben Amorim Last season was arguably Manchester United’s lowest point in history, finishing 15th in the league and suffering heartbreak in the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur. However, with a fresh season ahead, optimism is returning. Manager Ruben Amorim has strengthened his squad significantly with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, who bring renewed energy and depth to United’s attack. Their presence provides Amorim with more tactical flexibility as he embarks on his first full campaign at the helm. Although Amorim would have loved to secure Viktor Gyokeres, the prolific striker chose to join rivals Arsenal instead, setting the stage for even more drama in this weekend’s clash. Arsenal: Mikel Arteta’s Defining Season Arsenal, on the other hand, enter the season with high expectations. Having finished as runners-up for three consecutive years, there is mounting pressure on Mikel Arteta to finally deliver the league title. The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market, securing six key signings: Viktor Gyokeres, Christhian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, and Christian Norgaard. These arrivals have added quality and depth across all areas of the squad. With an opening win already secured, Arsenal’s challenge at Old Trafford is crucial. Arteta’s side knows that starting strong and maintaining consistency is vital if they are to finally end their long wait for the Premier League crown. A Clash Beyond Three Points The meeting at Old Trafford is not just another league fixture—it is a battle of ambition, strategy, and resilience. For United, it represents a chance to erase last season’s disappointment and show the world they are on the path back to greatness. For Arsenal, it is an opportunity to prove they have the mental strength and tactical edge required to transform near misses into ultimate triumph. Whatever the outcome, this fixture will set the tone for both teams’ campaigns and provide early insight into the trajectory of the 2025 Premier League season.

“You Never See Anything” – Victor Boniface Recalls Old Interaction with José Mourinho

Nigerian forward Victor Boniface has opened up about a memorable past encounter with legendary Portuguese coach José Mourinho, who has managed elite clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and AS Roma. The exchange between Boniface and Mourinho happened shortly before AS Roma’s shocking 6-1 defeat to Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage on October 21, 2021. At that time, Boniface was playing for Bodø/Glimt, a team based in a small city in Norway. Before his move to Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, the Nigerian striker experienced the unique and extreme weather conditions of the region, which he admitted posed challenges even for top-level professionals. Speaking on The Culture League Podcast, Boniface reflected: “I played in Norway, one of the coldest countries in the world. I was with Bodø/Glimt, and the city itself is very small… it’s surrounded by the sea, and the temperature is freezing. Mourinho came to the pitch, walked inside, pulled out his phone, recorded everything, and posted: ‘This is the situation, we’re about to play, very cold.’ I commented on that same post because, at that time, I didn’t know I’d reach this level in my career. I told him, ‘You never see anything.’” Interestingly, despite being part of the Bodø/Glimt squad, Boniface did not feature in that historic match because he was still recovering from a cruciate ligament injury. That encounter remains a defining memory for Boniface, who has since risen to prominence as one of Nigeria’s most exciting attacking talents and a key figure for Bayer Leverkusen and the Super Eagles.

He humorously added that at times, she provides in-depth feedback even before he has fully thought through certain matters. A Gift of Partnership For M.I, Eniola’s commitment is more than encouragement—it is a partnership that has become essential to his journey as an artist and entrepreneur. He described her presence in his life as “a true gift,” reiterating that she embodies unwavering love, dedication, and sacrifice. Tusks of Terror: Elephant Attacks Plunge Ogun Community into Fear

Sixteen-year-old Musa Korede could barely hold back tears as he narrated the chilling moment that forever changed his life. “I heard the loud struggle between my father and the elephant. I ran back to the village for help, but when we returned, we found him on the ground, his intestines out, one leg broken, and bruises covering his body,” Korede recalled with deep pain. His father, Musa Yahaya Kala, a 49-year-old father of five, was fatally attacked by elephants in Itasin community, Ijebu East Local Government Area, Ogun State, on Monday, July 28, 2025. While some villagers described the victim as a farmer, others said he was a logger cutting trees in the elephants’ territory. According to Korede, two elephants charged at them just as they began their day’s work. In fear, they ran in opposite directions. “I managed to hide safely, but I soon heard my father’s cries. When I traced the path back with another villager, we found him weak and bleeding. The elephants appeared again, forcing us to retreat. By the time we returned with more people, my father had already died,” Korede said. A Community Living in Fear Once known for fishing and farming, Itasin, Imobi has turned into a community living in dread. The elephants, which wandered into the area seven years ago, were initially harmless—roaming freely and feeding on plantains and bananas. But in recent years, they have grown violent, attacking people, farms, and property. Now, the thundering sound of elephants in the forest strikes fear into the villagers. Already battling bad roads, lack of electricity, poor water supply, and deteriorating infrastructure for over a decade, the residents now face an added terror—wandering elephants estimated to number about 100. Since 2018, farms, fishing equipment, and properties have been destroyed repeatedly, with the latest tragedy being the death of Musa Kala. Endless Losses Since 2018 For Oluwaremi Oluwafunke, a widow in the community, the elephants have left a trail of destruction. “In 2018, I borrowed over ₦250,000 for farming. Just a day after planting, elephants destroyed everything. This year, I tried again, but they ruined my farm again. I am a widow, farming is my only survival,” she lamented. Similarly, palm kernel farmer Ajumosu Odunaike said their livelihoods have been crippled. “We plant, but never harvest. Elephants eat everything. Even fetching firewood or processing cassava into garri has become dangerous. Recently, they killed another man, leaving his wife and children helpless,” she revealed. Survivors Share Their Pain Bello Kunle, a woodcutter, survived an elephant attack on March 15, 2023. “People say elephants don’t attack first—it’s a lie. I didn’t provoke it. That night, while hunting snails and bush meat, an elephant attacked me, leaving deep injuries. Since then, I cannot work fully. I have two wives and children, but my strength is gone,” he confessed. Another victim, Kazeem Badmus, a chainsaw operator, said he was attacked by four elephants while logging in 2024. He underwent surgery and could not work for almost a year. Community Leaders and Lawmakers Call for Action The Adele Oba of Itasin, High Chief Adedoyin Ajayi, urged the government to urgently intervene. “Business activities here have collapsed, and debts keep rising. The elephants should be relocated to restore peace. Families of victims must be supported, especially children who lost their fathers,” he appealed. Also, Owode Ifedolapo, member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, pressed for preventive measures. “This is a wake-up call for balance between conservation and human safety. Government, conservation agencies, and local authorities must act quickly,” he said. Government Defends Elephant Conservation However, the Ogun State Commissioner for Forestry, Oludotun Taiwo, emphasized that the area is a wildlife conservation zone, not farmland. “The forest spans over 6,000 hectares and was approved strictly for elephant conservation. Sadly, people keep returning illegally for logging and farming despite warnings, signboards, and demolitions. These elephants are naturally not aggressive unless provoked,” he explained. While expressing sympathy, he urged residents to respect conservation boundaries to prevent further tragedy. Conclusion The battle between humans and elephants in Itasin, Ogun State, reflects a larger conflict between conservation and survival. While elephants are protected, villagers—mostly farmers and fishermen—are left vulnerable, losing lives and livelihoods. The community waits anxiously for government action that balances wildlife protection with human safety.

EPL: Pep Guardiola Reacts After Manchester City’s 4-0 Victory Over Wolves

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reacted to his side’s emphatic 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their opening Premier League fixture, admitting that while the first-half performance impressed him, the second-half display fell below his expectations. The defending champions kicked off their title defense with goals from Erling Haaland, who struck twice across both halves, while Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki—two of City’s newest signings—also found the back of the net. Despite the convincing scoreline, Guardiola was quick to highlight the dip in intensity after the interval, suggesting that it may have been due to a lack of full match fitness, as City had played limited pre-season friendlies. Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Guardiola analyzed the game in detail: “The first half was good, but the second was not. The attitude and many things were good, but in the second half, Wolves played better in certain moments. Still, winning 4-0 and improving is positive.” The Spaniard praised his summer signings, particularly Reijnders, who he described as one of the standout players from Serie A last season: “All the new ones impressed. Tijjani was among the best players in Serie A; his rhythm is unbelievable. In the first game, you never know what to expect. We didn’t play many warm-up matches in pre-season, but there were many positives, especially in the first half.” Guardiola admitted that his squad’s drop in tempo during the second period is not unusual at this stage of the season: “In the second half, we dropped too much. Maybe that is normal in the beginning of the season.” Key Takeaway While Manchester City opened their season in dominant fashion, Guardiola’s sharp remarks underline his constant demand for perfection. With the Premier League season just underway, the champions will look to fine-tune their performance levels as they aim to retain the title once again.

EPL: Tijjani Reijnders Confirms Man City’s Title Ambition After 4-0 Victory Over Wolves

Manchester City’s new signing, Tijjani Reijnders, has made it clear that the club’s primary focus is reclaiming the Premier League title this season. The Dutch midfielder, who had a remarkable debut performance, played a pivotal role in City’s emphatic 4-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday. Reijnders not only opened his scoring account but also contributed with two assists, a display that earned him the Man of the Match award. Speaking in a post-match interview with Sky Sports, Reijnders reflected on the team’s determination to restore their dominance in the English top-flight: “Last season, Manchester City couldn’t secure the Premier League trophy, and that is our biggest objective this campaign. Every player in this squad is focused and sharp, working together to achieve that target.” The midfielder, visibly proud of his debut, also highlighted what it means to represent a club with such a rich history of legendary players: “This club has been home to some of the greatest names in football. Joining Manchester City fills me with pride, and I want to showcase that feeling every time I step on the pitch. Playing for City brings me joy, passion, and love for the game.” With his immediate impact, Reijnders has already signaled that he could be a decisive figure for Pep Guardiola’s side as they push to regain the Premier League crown.
