Akinlade emphasized that Saanumi’s prolonged detention violates legal provisions that mandate a suspect’s right to bail or timely arraignment. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Abdullahi Mukit for allegedly defrauding unsuspecting victims of $3,500 through online scams. A 24-year-old Kaduna resident, Edward Williams, was sentenced to 12 strokes of the cane for stealing 12 plastic chairs valued at N224,000. The governor of Kano, Abba Yusuf, has stated that his administration will take all necessary steps to repatriate minors who are thought to be from the state. Sijibomi Ogundele, a well-known businessman from Lagos, was freed on bail after being held at the Force Criminal Investigations Department in Abuja. The property was listed for $750,000, but after our client and Mr. Sijibomi Ogundele met, the price was lowered to $650,000 with consideration offered to our client if 50% was paid right away. Jegede Oluwasina, 39, appeared in an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on charges of assaulting two on-duty police officers.
