A national special prayer session is scheduled to take place today, Friday, at the National Mosque in Abuja to honour Nigeria’s late former President, Muhammadu Buhari. This announcement was made public by Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential media aide, through an update he posted on his official Facebook page early Friday. Bashir Ahmad revealed that aside from the special prayer session holding at the Abuja National Mosque, similar prayer gatherings will also be conducted across multiple Juma’at mosques nationwide. He posted, *“Today, a special national prayer will be offered in memory of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Mosque, Abuja, and in various Juma’at mosques across Nigeria. We beseech Allah (SWT) to accept his soul, pardon his misdeeds, and grant him everlasting peace in Jannatul Firdaus.”* According to LMSINT MEDIA, President Buhari passed away on Sunday in London, United Kingdom, following an extended battle with an undisclosed illness. His body was laid to rest on Wednesday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, where a host of dignitaries gathered to pay their final respects to the former Nigerian leader.
