IPOB highlighted that this confession aligns with its long-held claims of non-involvement in regional disturbances. The group reiterated its stance, stating: “The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, categorically declare that we are not responsible for the kidnappings, killings, or any form of insecurity currently troubling Imo State.” The video, which has gained attention on social media platforms, reportedly includes a statement from the suspect distancing IPOB, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from any criminal conspiracy. Reports indicate that Ibeh paid a ₦2 million ransom before the suspects were arrested.
