A devastating fire in Ibadan, Oyo State, has claimed the lives of three family members, including a husband, wife, and their grandchild. The incident occurred at Ori Eru, Idikan, in the Ibadan North West Local Government Area on Friday, December 20, 2024, around 3:46 PM. Details of the Incident According to reports, the fire engulfed the upper floor of a six-room residential building. The General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident and noted that the agency was alerted promptly. Firefighters led by ACFS Oyedeji arrived swiftly to extinguish the blaze and minimize damage to surrounding properties. In addition to the tragic loss of life, five individuals were rescued from the burning building. However, while three bodies were evacuated from the scene, Mr. Akinyinka emphasized that only certified medical professionals could officially confirm the deaths.
