The team clinched the title in a commanding fashion with a 2-0 victory over Espanyol. Both Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez found the net, securing a decisive win for Barcelona, which allowed them to finish ahead of Real Madrid in the final standings. In his post-match comments, Yamal praised Lionel Messi, currently with Inter Miami, labeling him the best football player in history. The Spain international made it clear that he does not compare himself to Messi. “I’d never compare me with Messi… Leo is the best player ever,” Yamal stated, as quoted by trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano.
