Ismaila Isah, the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, shared these updates during an interview on TrustTV’s Daily Politics program. He revealed that Governor Ododo has initiated continuous operations targeting criminal elements within and around the state. “Rather than waiting for criminals to attack, we have taken the fight to their hideouts. Kogi is perhaps the only state in Nigeria consistently pursuing this offensive strategy,” Isah emphasized. He disclosed that ongoing clearance operations are being conducted along Kogi’s borders with states such as Kwara, Ekiti, Nasarawa, Benue, and Ondo. As a state sharing borders with nine regions, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kogi has maintained consistent security efforts across forested regions where criminal elements often take refuge. Additionally, nearly 3,000 vigilante members and local hunters have been recruited and are now receiving salaries above the national minimum wage.
