Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has once again emphasized his administration’s dedication to strengthening grassroots governance. He expressed strong backing for a newly proposed bill that aims to grant complete autonomy to local government councils across the state. This commitment was revealed in an official statement released by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Friday. Governor Yusuf made the declaration during the 31st Executive Council meeting, which was held at the Government House Annex in Kwankwasiyya City. During the session, the council officially approved the transmission of the bill to the Kano State House of Assembly for further legislative debate and consideration. According to the governor, the proposed legislation will ensure that all 44 local government councils in Kano State receive both administrative and financial independence.
