Plans for the funeral service of late Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota, along with his brother Andre Silva, have now been finalized. The funeral is scheduled to be held on Saturday at 10:00am in the Portuguese city of Gondomar. Initially, Father Jose Manuel Macedo, a local priest, had announced that the service would happen at 4:00pm on Friday. However, Father Macedo later changed this arrangement and confirmed the funeral would instead take place on Saturday morning. According to information published by the UK Mirror, the shift in timing arose from minor documentation challenges that must be properly handled before the family of the deceased can proceed with repatriating the remains. Prior to the funeral mass on Saturday morning, a wake will take place at the Sao Cosme Chapel. Following this vigil, the final funeral mass will occur at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar, a Catholic parish church located adjacent to the chapel. Diogo Jota, aged 28, sadly passed away after being involved in a car crash during the early hours of Friday. At the time of the tragic accident, he was travelling in Spain together with his brother Andre Silva. The heartbreaking loss has sent shockwaves through the football community, and supporters are expected to gather in large numbers to pay their final respects to the talented player and his brother.
