Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11). The term “record” in our opening verse also means testimony. The New International Version and a few other versions put it more clearly: “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11 NIV). To get a better understanding of what John was discussing here, you’ll have to read the ninth and tenth verses as well. Let’s read: “We accept human testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony. Whoever does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because they have not believed the testimony God has given about his Son” (1 John 5:9-10 NIV). God’s testimony is that you have eternal life because you have Jesus Christ. You don’t have to feel it to know you have it. All you need is God’s testimony that you already have it. If you don’t accept His testimony, then you make Him a liar, and God cannot lie. That testimony also says anyone who doesn’t have the Son of God doesn’t have life. The 13th verse in the New International Version is so beautiful. There, the apostle John says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” Glory to God! If you believe in the Name of the Son of God, this was written to you so you can accept God’s testimony, and that testimony is that you have eternal life. Therefore, even now, say with confidence, “I have eternal life because I have the Son of God!” Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, I rejoice in your testimony that I have life because l have Jesus Christ. I walk in this consciousness today as I manifest your divine nature and power. I’m full of life, health and strength, and I live victoriously because eternal life is at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. In my ministry, career, finances, academics, family, and all that concerns me, I am enjoying my days in success, progress, peace, joy, health, and unending prosperity. I am making progress, rising like an edifice higher and higher irrespective of daunting challenges, persecutions, hardships, and troubles around the nations of the world. I am identified with the Lord and branded by Him. I am a different kind of being, one that doesn’t fail, suffer, perish, or get ill. My life is fashioned by God for excellence. I am a partaker of God’s glory, grace, and righteousness. I have power over all the abilities and strategies of the devil. No matter how he tries or through which means he attempts to attack my body, the Name of Jesus gives me authority, dominion, and triumph always. My life is the expression of all that Christ is. His divine life is manifested through me. I live in the consciousness of my divine life and origin in Christ, knowing that the life I live is superior to sickness, disease, and defeat. The life of God in me has supplanted the human life that was susceptible to sickness and disease. The Lord Almighty is my defense and fortress. Satan has nothing in me because I am full of the Holy Spirit at all times. The environment in which I live is Christ. Here, there is no health scare, infection, or pandemic. No matter what happens to those in the world, I stand firm in faith, and I enjoy my glorious life now. I bask in the provisions of Christ for my life, health, and all that concern me. I’m rich in all things, having inherited all things, for I’m a joint-heir with Christ! I’m fruitful and productive, making progress in every area of my life. I’m complete in Christ and every facet of my life is perfected for excellence. The Spirit guides and inspires me to take actions that’ll guarantee evident and unstoppable progress, increase, and blessings for me in Jesus’ name, Amen. Speak in tongues. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father (John 14:12). What we just read are some of the most extraordinary words from the lips of the Master. He said those who believe in Him, not only will they do the same works that He did, but they’ll do greater works. This is only possible because Jesus has ascended to the Father, and through the Holy Spirit, His work continues through us. Recall what the Scripture says in lsaiah 53:10, “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.” This verse speaks prophetically of the Church, the body of Christ, as the seed of Jesus Christ. It tells us that after His vicarious sacrifice, the Lord Jesus will see His seed—the Church—and we shall prolong His days. Hallelujah! That’s what’s going on; Jesus multiplies Himself through the Church today; He continues His mission through us. In Acts 1:1, Luke writes to Theophilus about “…all that Jesus began both to do and teach.” The key word here is “began”; Jesus started the work, but we continue it. We are the extension of His ministry, teaching, impacting and transforming lives as He did. The same Spirit that anointed Jesus for His work resides in us, enabling us to continue and expand upon what He started. Through the Holy Spirit, we’re empowered to reach more people and impact more lives for the Kingdom of God. Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” The Church is the extension of Christ on earth, living in His power and authority, fulfilling His mission. This is a calling of great honour and responsibility. We’re His hands, His feet, and His voice in this world, carrying out the will of the Father just as Jesus did. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the privilege of being a part of the body of Christ. I’m forever grateful that through the Holy Spirit, I’m empowered to do your will and establish your righteousness. I walk in this calling with boldness and faith, knowing that my life glorifies you. Thank you for making me an extension of your Kingdom in the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Health, peace, joy, and the glorious life are my present-hour inheritance. I am a king and a priest unto God and my words are full of power and authority; therefore I live a life of victory, success, divine health, abundance, excellence, and glory. I can never be small, the Spirit of God is magnifying my voice and influence around the nations of the world. The anointing of God’s Spirit has set me apart for greatness, causing me to spread and make progress on every side. In my business, job, career, finances, academics, family, and in all that concerns me. I have sound knowledge and understanding. I have strength, might, and power. I speak excellent and princely things. I have an understanding heart. The opening of my lips are for right things. My words are all righteous. I speak the truth always. God has given me wisdom. There is nothing beyond me. There is nothing I cannot handle. I have a wise and discerning heart. Christ is my excellent wisdom. Nothing and no one can hurt or come against me successfully, for I have the unconquerable life of God. Satan and the powers of darkness are under my feet; therefore, I have nothing to fear. The impulses of fear have been completely disabled from my life. Irrespective of the situation, I’m bold and courageous, speaking the Word in faith in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
