A tragic accident occurred at the Lagos-Ogun State border community of Ita Oluwo, where a high-speed truck reportedly suffered brake failure and rammed into another truck, leading to the death of a woman who was trapped between both vehicles. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the heartbreaking incident through an official statement released by Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment. According to the report, the collision involved two Iveco trucks transporting iron rods, identified by registration numbers QX 189 KSF and YA 701 AAA. One of the trucks, while allegedly speeding, experienced sudden brake failure and crashed into a stationary vehicle, causing a devastating impact that tragically claimed the life of a woman caught between them. The victim was carefully retrieved from the wreckage and transported to the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH) morgue in Sagamu, where her body was officially deposited. The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, condemned the incident and pointed to mechanical negligence and reckless driving as the leading cause.
