The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully neutralized a notorious bandit, Salisu Mohammed, widely known as Dogo Saleh. This milestone was achieved through a strategic counter-kidnapping operation aimed at dismantling a criminal syndicate responsible for several violent crimes in the region. Major Victory Against Banditry in the FCT According to police reports, Dogo Saleh’s gang had been responsible for numerous kidnappings and armed attacks along the Kaduna–Lokoja–Enugu highway and within the FCT. Final Operation and Fatal Crossfire On March 4, 2025, leveraging intelligence from the arrested suspect, operatives launched a follow-up operation targeting the gang’s stronghold in Kwasau Forest, Kagarko LGA, Kaduna State. Upon arrival, the police team faced an ambush from armed bandits attempting to rescue Saleh. A fierce gun battle ensued, forcing the criminals to retreat with severe gunshot wounds. During the crossfire, Saleh sustained fatal injuries inflicted by his own gang. He was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. The police successfully dismantled the bandits’ hideout. One officer sustained minor injuries and has since been discharged. Police Assurance of Justice The Nasarawa State Police Command has assured the public and Salome’s family that justice will prevail. Speaking on the matter, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, said: “The investigation is ongoing. Once completed, the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution. I want to assure the public that he will not be spared if found guilty. Sijibomi Ogundele, a well-known businessman from Lagos, was freed on bail after being held at the Force Criminal Investigations Department in Abuja. The property was listed for $750,000, but after our client and Mr. Sijibomi Ogundele met, the price was lowered to $650,000 with consideration offered to our client if 50% was paid right away. On November 5, 2020, Sujimoto Construction Limited acknowledged that our client had accepted the offer and paid $325,000, which was half of the $650,000 that had been agreed upon. Jegede Oluwasina, 39, appeared in an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday on charges of assaulting two on-duty police officers.
