I Haven’t Experienced True Love – Tiwa Savage Opens Up

Award-winning Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shared a deeply personal revelation, admitting that at the age of 44, she still hasn’t truly experienced what she considers real love. Speaking candidly during an interview with Zeze Mills, the Afrobeat star explained that the only genuine and unconditional love she has ever felt is from her son, Jamil. She reflected on her past romantic relationships and concluded that none of them were built on true love — instead, they were driven by temporary emotional highs and infatuation. “I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son,” Savage confessed. “Every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love — I was just infatuated. At the time, I thought I was in love, but in reality, I wasn’t. Even when I was married, I don’t think I experienced true love.” The singer revealed that these reflections have led her to a painful but firm conclusion — perhaps love is simply not meant for her. Despite trying repeatedly over the years, she says her search for true, lasting love has been unsuccessful. “Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again, so maybe love isn’t for me in this lifetime,” she added. LMSINT MEDIA recalls that Tiwa Savage tied the knot with her then-manager, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, in 2013. Unfortunately, their marriage faced numerous challenges and eventually ended in divorce in 2018 after all reconciliation efforts failed. Their union produced one child, Jamil, who remains her greatest source of love and joy. Tiwa Savage’s honest confession has sparked conversations about the difference between love and infatuation, with many fans praising her courage for speaking openly about such a sensitive and emotional subject.
