The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended four individuals suspected of involvement in armed robbery during a targeted operation at the Dei-Dei timber shed in Abuja. Details of the Arrest The arrests were made by detectives from the Dei-Dei ‘B’ Division under the directives of FCT Police Commissioner Olatunji Rilwan Disu, as part of an initiative to dismantle criminal hideouts across the capital. Commissioner Disu revealed that the operation was guided by credible intelligence, which led to the successful apprehension of the suspects. Those arrested include: Seized Items and Evidence The police recovered several incriminating items from the scene, including: Connection to Organized Crime Preliminary investigations suggest the hideout was linked to a larger criminal network led by a fugitive identified as Murtala. This location reportedly served as a hub for drug trafficking, handling of stolen mobile phones, and other illegal activities. One of the suspects, Ismail Tasiu, also known as “Old School,” confessed to operating in the area for over a decade. Another suspect, Nura Halilu, admitted to being part of the robbery and drug syndicate under the leadership of the fugitive Murtala. Next Steps Commissioner Disu confirmed that all suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution in due course.
