Adesola Elegbeji, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially been declared the winner of the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency bye-election, securing an overwhelming victory with 41,237 votes. The bye-election, which was conducted on Saturday, came as a result of the vacant seat left by the late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, the former federal lawmaker representing the constituency, who sadly passed away in January following a brief illness. INEC Declares Results Announcing the outcome, the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kazeem Bello, disclosed that the APC candidate polled 41,237 votes, far ahead of her closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who garnered 14,324 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) managed just 289 votes.
