Trump Instructs Federal Agencies to Reopen Historic Alcatraz Prison

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has directed federal authorities to reactivate the infamous Alcatraz prison, situated in San Francisco, California, which now stands as a well-known historic monument. Trump proposed that Alcatraz should undergo significant reconstruction and expansion to accommodate the nation’s most dangerous and violent offenders. This declaration was made public through Trump’s Truth Social platform on Sunday. In his statement, Trump revealed that he has instructed the Bureau of Prisons, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI to take action in reviving a “substantially enlarged and rebuilt” version of Alcatraz prison. The intent, he emphasized, is to detain “America’s most ruthless and violent offenders.” “We will no longer allow ourselves to be intimidated by lawbreakers, violent individuals, or Judges unwilling to enforce the law and facilitate the removal of criminals who entered our nation illegally,” Trump stated. He further explained that reopening Alcatraz would stand as a renewed emblem of justice, discipline, and national order. “The reopening of ALCATRAZ will serve as a symbol of Law, Order, and JUSTICE. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he declared. According to Trump, the United States has long suffered from an ongoing crisis involving brutal, repeat criminal elements. He remarked that in previous decades, America demonstrated firmness by swiftly incarcerating its most dangerous individuals and isolating them from society. Originally established in 1934 on a 22-acre rock island, Alcatraz operated for 29 years before its closure. Today, Alcatraz Island is a widely visited destination in San Francisco, managed by the National Park Service.
