The United States has reinforced its security cooperation with Nigeria by supplying military support equipment to Nigerian security agencies to aid ongoing security operations across the country. The delivery was officially confirmed by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) through a statement shared on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday. According to the command, the military items were handed over in Abuja as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s operational capacity in combating security threats. AFRICOM stated that U.S. forces delivered essential military supplies to Nigerian partners, emphasizing that the move reflects the strong and ongoing security partnership between both nations. The command highlighted that the assistance is aimed at supporting Nigeria’s current counter-terrorism and internal security operations.
