The Commissioner further reminded officers that the police force is guided by constitutional principles and due process, stressing that officers must always maintain professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He added that sharing crime suspects’ photographs or videos online before legal prosecution could jeopardize investigations, compromise court proceedings, and potentially expose the Nigeria Police Force to lawsuits. Instead, officers were urged to adhere strictly to established protocols and respect human rights while handling suspects in any case. In addition, CP Isa issued a stern reminder that officers must refrain from interfering in civil matters. He clarified that the duty of the police is to prevent crime, protect lives and property, and enforce the law—not to meddle in issues outside criminal responsibility. The Commissioner stressed that meddling in civil disputes often escalates conflicts, damages the reputation of the police institution, and creates distrust among the public. The Abia State Police Command reassured the general public of its commitment to justice, fairness, and transparency. The Commissioner of Police in Abia State, CP Danladi Isa, has issued a directive to Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Leaders across the Command to remain highly vigilant and ensure the protection of all government facilities and police formations ahead of May 30, 2025. According to LMSINT MEDIA, the directive comes in response to a sit-at-home announcement made by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). CP Isa delivered this instruction during a high-level security briefing held in his office with key security heads — Area Commanders, DPOs, and leaders of tactical units. He stressed that every officer must adhere strictly to the existing Operation Order and maintain oversight over the activities of their teams. In a press release issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, it was confirmed that officers stationed at key locations have been instructed to stay alert and respond proactively to any security challenges. The statement further revealed that rapid response units have been activated and are on standby, ready to swiftly respond to any emergency situation. Additionally, CP Isa has directed Area Commanders to continue the Operation “Show of Force”, which is being carried out in collaboration with other security agencies throughout the state.
