Ebonyi Police Thwart Kidnap Attempt, Rescue Victim in Abakaliki

In a swift response to criminal activity, the Ebonyi State Police Command has successfully prevented a kidnapping incident in Abakaliki, the state capital. According to the police spokesperson, Joshua Ukandu, the incident occurred on March 30, 2025, around 8:30 PM, near Mile 50, Abakaliki. Upon receiving intelligence about the abduction, a specialized team was immediately mobilized to track and intercept the kidnappers. Vehicles Recovered as Kidnappers Abandon Victim The law enforcement team traced the kidnappers’ getaway vehicle, an ash-colored Toyota Corolla (Registration No: SKA 828 AA), to Tina Nweze Street, Mile 50, Abakaliki. Under intense pressure from the advancing police officers, the criminals were forced to flee, leaving behind the kidnapped victim, the Toyota Corolla, and an additional vehicle, a Toyota Sienna, which belonged to the victim. Following the successful rescue operation, the Ebonyi Police Command has taken custody of the recovered vehicles at their headquarters, where they will be handed over to their rightful owners.
