President Tinubu Commends Super Falcons on 10th WAFCON Victory After Stunning Comeback

In a historic final held on Saturday night in Rabat, Morocco, the Nigerian women’s national football team delivered a stunning comeback performance, overturning a two-goal deficit to defeat the host nation — the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco — in a dramatic 3-2 victory.

This impressive win marks the Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON title, further solidifying their dominance in African women’s football.

Initially, Morocco took control of the game with early goals from Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanna Mssoudy, putting Nigeria on the back foot.

However, the tide shifted in the second half. The Super Falcons mounted a powerful resurgence, with Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and substitute Jennifer Echegini all finding the net to seal the comeback win.
