In a video message shared with his congregation on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Pastor Idowu provided insight into the situation. He explained that the investigation pertains to a church member accused of financial misconduct. He reassured his audience, stating:
“This is from me to you: I was invited and not arrested. I was invited by the Police to help in an investigation about a church member that got into some trouble.”
Respect for Privacy and Ongoing Investigation
Pastor Idowu expressed his decision to withhold specific details, emphasizing the need to respect the privacy of those involved. He highlighted the potential harm of prematurely naming individuals:
“Remember, the case is under investigation. They all have wives, children, and relatives. Mentioning names now would ruin lives. I will let the Police do their thing.”
