Moscow Hit by Large Drone Attack as Fire Erupts Near Refinery Area

A wave of drone activity over Moscow and surrounding areas on Thursday, June 18, triggered explosions, emergency responses, and a major fire that sent thick smoke into the sky, according to reports from Russian officials, local channels, and eyewitness footage circulating online.

By approximately 5:43 a.m., Sobyanin said authorities had intercepted and destroyed dozens of drones approaching Moscow. Russian reports claimed the number of downed unmanned aerial vehicles had reached 33 at that time.
