Governor Zulum Reassigns Commissioners in Borno State Cabinet Shake-Up

In a recent cabinet adjustment, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has implemented a minor reshuffle within his administration, just days after inaugurating two newly appointed commissioners.

This update was made public through an official release by Alhaji Bukar Tijani, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). The statement outlined key changes involving top government portfolios, with the intent of enhancing administrative efficiency and governance coordination across various ministries.

Key Reassignments in Borno’s Executive Council

As outlined in the statement, Mr. Tarpaya Asariya, who previously served as the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Tourism, has now been reassigned to lead the Ministry of Inter-Governmental Affairs and Special Duties. This move is seen as strategic, considering Asariya’s vast experience and the increasing importance of inter-governmental collaboration in addressing Borno State’s post-insurgency rebuilding agenda.

Simultaneously, Engr. Mohammed Habib has been appointed as the new Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment. His professional background in environmental engineering is expected to contribute significantly to the state’s efforts toward sustainable development, waste management, and climate adaptation strategies.

In a related development, Ibrahim Hala-Hassan will now assume the position of Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Tourism, taking over the portfolio previously held by Mr. Asariya.
