Arise Television’s popular Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has openly criticized Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, over his recent comments following his reinstatement as the state governor.

Oseni alleged that Governor Fubara’s remarks reveal that he has been intimidated and suppressed by political forces.

Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, Oseni wrote:
“Fubara is celebrating peace of the graveyard, after he has been bullied and subdued. Peace is better than war, he says. Play back all his tapes for him.”

This sharp criticism followed Governor Fubara’s statewide address on Friday, where he called on Rivers people to reflect on the lessons of the six-month emergency rule declared by President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the state.

During his broadcast, Fubara emphasized that “the costliest peace is still cheaper than the cheapest war.”

He further explained that his decision to cooperate with the Federal Government under President Tinubu, and his refusal to challenge the constitutional validity of the emergency rule, was a deliberate sacrifice to protect peace, security, and sustainable development in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara noted that safeguarding the people’s welfare and ensuring stability in the state was more important than engaging in endless political battles.
