Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has voiced concerns regarding Manchester United’s newest signing, Matheus Cunha, focusing particularly on the player’s demeanor. Although Cole praised Cunha’s talent—highlighting his flair, goal-scoring prowess, and versatility—he pointed to rumors about the Brazilian’s attitude that give him pause.

Cunha, 26, transferred to Manchester United from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, committing to a five-year deal with the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Reflecting on Cunha’s profile, Cole told TNT Sports, “He is a phenomenal player—a fantastic goal scorer with a broad skill set—but I’ve heard whispers about his attitude.” He was careful not to label Cunha negatively, stating, “I wouldn’t say he’s a bad boy, but he does come across as a bit of a maverick—and that rings in conversation about him.” Cole added, “There’s always too much talk coming out of Manchester United’s dressing room, so bringing in Cunha feels like a bit of a gamble.”
