Rhapsody of Realities July 2nd 2025, STAY FOCUSED ON THE DIVINE MISSION

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak (John 12:49). The Lord Jesus was focused on His divine mission. He knew exactly what He came to do and was undistracted. He declared His purpose and remained committed to it: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10 NKJV). Then in John 4:34 NKJV, He said,“…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work,” showing His deep commitment to completing the mission given to Him by the Father. But then in John 20:21, He said something remarkable, “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” Therefore, like Him, we must stay focused on the divine mission. He said in Mark 16:15, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is the divine mission. Matthew 24:14 says “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Our mandate is to complete the full preaching of the Gospel in all nations this year; how focused are you on this? Your accountability to the Lord would be on the basis of your participation in the Gospel. Anyone can say to you today, “You’re doing a great job,” but what truly matters is if you’re doing what the Lord said to do. Even in speech, the Lord Jesus set an example as seen in our theme verse. Every word He spoke was in alignment with the divine mission. He said in John 8:29, “I always do those things that please the Father.” We’re called to emulate Him in all things. Therefore, let your life mirror the Master in speech, action and commitment to the divine mission. Stay focused on fulfilling the mandate of the Gospel. Personalize the mandate and live every day with the consciousness that necessity is laid on you to preach the Gospel. Nothing in this world is more important than that. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for setting me on a path of divine purpose. I walk in alignment with your will and in the consciousness that necessity is laid on me to preach the Gospel. My life is a reflection of true and unwavering commitment to the cause of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY|| Acts 20:18-25And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, 19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: 20 [And] how I kept back nothing that was profitable [unto you], but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house, 21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. 22 And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: 23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. 24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. 1 Corinthians 9:16-17For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation [of the gospel] is committed unto me. Transfer Update: Victor Osimhen Faces Limited Transfer Options as Juventus Closes in on Jonathan David

Napoli’s prolific forward, Victor Osimhen, appears to be facing increasingly limited alternatives in his pursuit of a permanent exit from the Italian club. This development arises as Juventus steps up efforts to sign Jonathan David, the talented attacker formerly with Lille. According to LMSINT MEDIA, Juventus has acted decisively to secure Jonathan David’s signature. The Canadian striker became a free agent following the end of his contract with the French Ligue 1 outfit Lille. The Serie A giants are now in advanced discussions to bring him to Turin. Juventus had previously been identified as one of the very few potential destinations for Osimhen during this transfer window. The club is actively searching for a successor to Dusan Vlahovic, whose tenure at Juventus appears increasingly uncertain, with expectations that he will depart before the upcoming season begins. Renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that negotiations between Juventus and David’s representatives are at an advanced stage. Talks have progressed swiftly as the Italian side prioritizes acquiring David, who delivered an impressive record during his time in France, scoring 37 goals and contributing 15 assists across 83 matches for Lille. All indications suggest that Juventus is leaning towards finalizing a deal for David rather than pursuing Osimhen. This scenario leaves Victor Osimhen in a challenging position as his desired move away from Napoli faces significant hurdles, with one of his main suitors now focused on an alternative target.

Club World Cup 2025: Why Jude and Jobe Bellingham Won’t Compete Against Each Other in the Quarter-Final

The much-anticipated opportunity for football fans to witness a Bellingham brothers face-off at the 2025 Club World Cup quarter-final will not materialize. Jude Bellingham and Jobe Bellingham will not compete against each other in this stage of the prestigious tournament due to unforeseen circumstances. Jobe Bellingham, who recently secured a move to Borussia Dortmund, has been ruled out of the upcoming match against Real Madrid. The 19-year-old midfielder received a yellow card during Dortmund’s intense 2-1 victory over Monterrey on Wednesday morning. This booking has led to his suspension for the crucial quarter-final clash, preventing what would have been the first competitive encounter between the siblings. Had Jobe managed to avoid being cautioned during the match, football enthusiasts could have witnessed a historic moment: Jude Bellingham and Jobe Bellingham playing against each other on a major international stage for the very first time in their respective careers. In that match, Serhou Guirassy delivered a standout performance for Borussia Dortmund. The striker netted two decisive goals within the span of 10 minutes, ensuring his team’s progression at the expense of the Mexican side, Monterrey. Monterrey’s German Berterame did manage to reduce the deficit just three minutes into the second half, but his effort proved to be no more than a consolation as Dortmund held on for the win. Earlier on the same day, Jude Bellingham played a vital role in Real Madrid’s narrow 1-0 victory over Juventus, a result that secured Madrid’s place in the last eight. With both teams advancing, the stage was set for what could have been a memorable sibling showdown, but Jobe’s suspension has now dashed those hopes. The football world will have to wait for another occasion to see these talented brothers compete directly against each other in a competitive fixture.

Club World Cup: Xabi Alonso Highlights Five Crucial Real Madrid Players After Win Over Juventus

Real Madrid head coach, Xabi Alonso, has commended five of his standout players following their narrow victory against Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday night. Alonso observed as Real Madrid secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Juventus, booking their place in the quarter-final stage of the tournament. The decisive moment of the match came in the second half when Gonzalo Garcia found the back of the net, delivering the goal that ultimately sealed the triumph for Los Blancos. The Spanish giants are now set to clash with Borussia Dortmund in what promises to be an intense last-eight showdown in the coming days. Alonso Praises Five Key Real Madrid Stars In his post-match remarks, Alonso did not focus solely on the goal-scorer. Instead, he emphasized the collective importance of the team. The Real Madrid manager pointed out that players like Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Dani Ceballos are vital to the team’s success. According to Alonso, relying on a single individual is insufficient for organizing a top-level football team. “I am pleased with Arda Güler; he is performing admirably,” Alonso shared during his post-game press briefing.“However, it goes beyond just him. No single player can shape a team. We require everyone—Fede, Jude, Tchouaméni, Ceballos—each contributes to the collective effort.” With eyes now fixed on their next fixture against Borussia Dortmund, Alonso and his squad will aim to build on this momentum as they continue their Club World Cup campaign.

I won’t discuss the reasons publicly because that’s between me and Annie. She is wonderful, but things just stopped working. The spark we once shared faded, and I feel no need to talk about it openly. It’s always good to attempt to fix your marriage, but when things go beyond repair, no one should force anything. Only the people in the relationship truly know what they’re feeling. You shouldn’t let the world dictate your happiness because many people live in emotional bondage. I don’t think anyone should suffer just to satisfy society. When it’s clear that reconciliation isn’t possible, no one should be pressured to stay together.” The African Queen crooner’s revelation triggered mixed reactions on social media. While some fans praised him for being honest and respectful, others criticized him, accusing him of talking too much or being unfaithful during the marriage. Mixed Reactions from Social Media Users Here are a few of the responses shared by netizens: It’s worth noting that 2Face is now reportedly in a relationship with Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, following his earlier announcement about his divorce this year. In the session, Nedu posed a thought-provoking question: “Is it possible for someone like 2Face to be loyal? Can a man truly remain devoted to a single woman?” Responding sincerely, 2Face acknowledged: “I mentioned this a few days ago and it stirred up trouble, but I wasn’t bothered. Honestly, I can only speak for myself. I won’t generalize for all men. I believe a man isn’t designed to be sexually exclusive to just one woman. Five Chinese Nationals Convicted in Lagos for Cyberterrorism and Internet Fraud — EFCC Clampdown

In a landmark ruling, the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully secured the conviction of five Chinese nationals involved in offenses bordering on cyberterrorism and sophisticated internet fraud schemes. The historic judgment, delivered on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, came from the courtroom of Justice Dehinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State. The convicted Chinese nationals — identified as Guo Qiang, Yang Shumei, Guo Zhi Yong, Zhang Gia Feng, and Lu Yi Liang — were all implicated as part of a more extensive syndicate that was deeply entrenched in an elaborate cryptocurrency investment racket as well as romance-related internet fraud operations. According to details provided by the EFCC, the five convicts were apprehended in connection with a sweeping sting operation carried out on December 19, 2024. The coordinated effort, codenamed the “Eagle Flush Operation,” was designed to dismantle a web of fraudsters targeting vulnerable people online and defrauding them under the guise of cryptocurrency investments or love scams. That same operation resulted in the arrest of as many as 792 suspects in total, reflecting the far-reaching scale of the syndicate’s activities. Each of the defendants was brought before the Federal High Court on separate charges relating to their involvement in cybercrime operations. These activities included gaining unauthorized access to various computer systems, with the underlying intention of compromising and destabilizing Nigeria’s socio-economic and technological infrastructure. Initially, the accused individuals pleaded not guilty at the point of their formal arraignment. However, during subsequent hearings on Tuesday, they opted to change their plea to guilty. Following their new plea, the prosecution counsel, U.S. Kyari, made a motion urging the court to convict the defendants in line with their admissions. In response, Justice Dehinde Dipeolu pronounced a sentence of one year imprisonment for each of the five convicts. The court also imposed a monetary fine of N1,000,000 (One Million Naira) on each of them as additional punishment. Furthermore, Justice Dipeolu ordered the Nigeria Immigration Service to make the necessary arrangements for the convicts to be repatriated back to China within seven days after completing their prison sentences in Nigeria. This directive is aimed at ensuring their prompt removal from the country upon serving their terms. The successful conviction and sentencing of these individuals underline Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to combating the threat of cybercrime, internet fraud, and financial terrorism, especially where foreign nationals are found to be exploiting the nation’s cyberspace for criminal gain.

Makinde Faces Backlash as Stakeholders Clash Over Proposed Renaming of The Polytechnic Ibadan

A wave of reactions has trailed Governor Seyi Makinde’s announcement to rename The Polytechnic Ibadan in honour of the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, the first Ibadan-born governor of the former Oyo State. Olunloyo, who held office between October and December 1983, was also the pioneer Principal of the prestigious institution and an accomplished mathematician before his passing on April 6, 2025. In tribute, Governor Makinde disclosed plans to rebrand the institution as Victor Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, praising Olunloyo’s impactful life and outstanding achievements. However, his intention has triggered passionate and divergent reactions from students, alumni, prominent citizens, and various other stakeholders. Students, Alumni, and Stakeholders Object to Polytechnic Ibadan’s Renaming Many students and past graduates of the institution have strongly resisted Governor Makinde’s plan, urging him to reverse the proposed name change. According to reports gathered by LMSINT MEDIA, protesters gathered on Tuesday, blocking the gates of the institution and the bustling Sango-Eleyele Road, causing heavy traffic and leaving numerous commuters and residents stranded. Even members of staff were unable to enter the campus due to the blockade. The Students’ Union Government (SUG), led by President Olamide Oladipupo, condemned the renaming as “unjustifiable and degrading,” emphasizing the institution’s 50-year legacy of academic distinction. Oladipupo argued that the Polytechnic Ibadan’s name embodies quality education and nationwide respect, and any alteration would severely damage its brand and alumni pride. He further urged Governor Makinde to preserve the school’s identity and seek alternative ways to honour the late Olunloyo. “For over five decades, The Polytechnic Ibadan has been a shining light of academic achievement, producing graduates who have made far-reaching contributions to society. Renaming the school would wipe away its heritage, inflicting long-term damage on its reputation and community.” The SUG pledged to engage in dialogue and demanded the government immediately reverse the decision, encouraging other stakeholders to support their cause. CDWR: Symbolism Without Development is Empty The Campaign for Democratic and Workers’ Rights (CDWR) also weighed in, describing the renaming initiative as a hollow symbolic act unless paired with actual reforms to address the institution’s core challenges. Oyo State CDWR coordinator Abiodun Bamigboye noted that the Polytechnic faces deep-seated problems including underfunding, infrastructure decay, inadequate staff welfare, and outdated learning resources. Bamigboye highlighted that the state administration must prioritize true development by funding renovations, modernizing equipment, improving staff remuneration, reducing school fees, and encouraging scholarships. He also stressed the need for democratic governance and accountability, criticizing the outsourcing of the Polytechnic’s financial management to Platinum, an external consultancy firm. The CDWR further raised alarm over anti-labour practices, especially the continued casualization of 80% of the workforce, as well as the suppression of union activities within the institution. Bamigboye concluded: “Renaming the Polytechnic without resolving these fundamental issues amounts to an empty ritual. We demand the Makinde-led administration focus on a holistic, transparent, and transformative development program rather than cosmetic changes.” Ex-CCII President-General Urges Makinde to Reverse Decision Chief Adeyemi Soladoye, a former President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and an alumnus of the institution, also joined the opposition against the proposed name change. Soladoye warned Makinde against being influenced by “political jobbers” and reminded him of the transient nature of political power. In a heartfelt appeal, Soladoye acknowledged Makinde’s remarkable infrastructural achievements, including the completion of the Olubadan Palace and the upgrade of the local airport to international status, but cautioned that The Polytechnic Ibadan was not established to serve only Ibadan but the entire Western Region. He argued that the institution has earned continental prestige, producing champions like football legend Chief Segun Odegbami, and should not be downgraded to celebrate a single individual, however distinguished. Soladoye pointed to precedents like the naming of halls of residence at the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan to honour founding principals, suggesting a similar, less disruptive route to honour Olunloyo. Soladoye also cited past examples where leaders heeded public sentiment to reverse similar unpopular renaming moves, including former President Goodluck Jonathan’s reversal on renaming the University of Lagos after MKO Abiola. He passionately concluded: “As a populist governor, let the people win on the Polytechnic Ibadan issue. It will cost nothing from you and will help heal the grievances your administration is already facing over land and heritage matters.” Soladoye further questioned the timing and cost implications of changing official records amid a period of widespread economic hardship, urging the governor to prioritize the needs of the people.

2027 Elections: Coalition Picks ADC as Platform, David Mark, Aregbesola, Abdullahi Secure Leadership Roles

On Tuesday, the opposition coalition took a decisive step by officially endorsing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political vehicle in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This strategic adoption is widely viewed as a calculated move to challenge and potentially dislodge the current ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), from power. As part of the coalition’s plans to structure itself ahead of the upcoming electoral season, it also revealed several key interim leaders who will drive the new party’s agenda. In a significant announcement, former Senate President David Mark has been named the national chairman of the party. In addition, Rauf Aregbesola, who recently completed his tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, has been appointed as the national secretary. Bolaji Abdullahi, a former Minister of Sports, will take up the position of the party’s official spokesperson. Previously, this opposition coalition had initiated attempts to register a new political party under the name All Democratic Alliance (ADA). These efforts came after initial negotiations with the ADC and also the Social Democratic Party (SDP) collapsed due to unresolved differences. However, when it became evident that the registration of ADA might face major hurdles and delays at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the group decided to return to the negotiating table with the ADC to revive the earlier alliance. According to insiders, the formal unveiling of this renewed coalition partnership with the ADC has been scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, with key party members and the media expected to attend and witness the event. This unveiling is considered crucial as it sets the tone for what many observers predict will be an intense political season leading up to the 2027 elections. The coalition leaders have expressed confidence that with the ADC as a unified platform, they can build the momentum needed to present a credible and formidable challenge against the APC. Political analysts believe this realignment could significantly reshape the opposition’s chances if they manage to maintain unity and a shared vision

APC: Reasons Behind Ganduje’s Resignation as National Chairman – Insights from Orji Kalu

The chairman of the Senate Committee on the South East Development Commission (SEDC) and former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has explained the circumstances surrounding Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’s unexpected resignation from his role as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to a report by LMSINT MEDIA, Ganduje’s abrupt resignation as the APC National Chairman has sparked considerable discussion and reaction across Nigeria’s political space. Many Nigerians expressed shock over this development, as it was largely unforeseen. However, the ruling All Progressives Congress has emphasized that Ganduje’s decision to step down was made in good faith and aligned with personal priorities. Dr. Ganduje, who previously served two terms as the Governor of Kano State, formally resigned from his prominent party position last week, citing personal and urgent matters as the motivation behind his decision. The APC leadership, in response to this move, confirmed that it had accepted his resignation and had already initiated processes to appoint his replacement. While speaking during an interview aired on Channels Television, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu clarified that the real reason for Ganduje’s resignation was related to his health. Kalu elaborated on their recent conversation, stating, “I was just with the national chairman two weeks ago at his residence, and we discussed extensively about health, about the party, and about other important matters. Health issues are things you cannot fully anticipate or ignore.” As reported by LMSINT MEDIA, there are still speculations among the public suggesting that while Ganduje cited health-related challenges, his loyal supporters believe that the reasons may extend beyond medical concerns. Some Nigerians have linked Ganduje’s resignation to possible political calculations ahead of the 2027 presidential elections. Additionally, there are narratives suggesting that the arrival of the National Leader of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) into the APC could have played a role in Ganduje’s decision to step down, with claims that this political shift might have influenced his resignation. However, Kalu was quick to reject those claims, maintaining that Ganduje’s health was the sole and genuine reason for stepping aside. He described Ganduje as a loyal ally and a close associate of the President, noting that Ganduje had no unresolved issues with the presidency that could have forced him out of office. Kalu stated: “He is a very close friend of the President. If it were not genuinely health issues, he would have said otherwise. Nigerians, whether powerful or ordinary citizens, should take him at his word, because he is in good standing with the President.” Orji Kalu further dismissed any suggestions that the entry of NNPP’s national leader into the APC influenced Ganduje’s exit. According to him, Ganduje made the personal choice to prioritize his health, reiterating the common saying that “health is wealth.” Kalu went on to stress the demands of leading a major party like the APC, highlighting the high-pressure nature of the job, which involves traveling from state to state and managing complex political interests. “Can he really continue moving from one end of the country to another, from Sokoto to Rivers, from Kebbi to Calabar, from Yobe to Abia, and then to Lagos, non-stop? It is a very demanding and challenging assignment. I honestly believe him,” Kalu said. He also expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership style, suggesting that if Ganduje had been asked to resign, the President would have made it clear and direct rather than hidden it behind another excuse. “The President is bold and courageous enough to say to him directly, ‘step down, your services are no longer required,’ but I do not believe that is what happened,” Kalu emphasized. Kalu reminded Nigerians of Ganduje’s longstanding support for President Tinubu even before other politicians openly endorsed him, demonstrating their political closeness and shared loyalty. “They are very close, and let us not forget that when Ganduje was governor, he was among the first to support Tinubu publicly before others came on board. Nigerians should learn to trust the words of their leaders,” he concluded.
