He said, “…the kingdom of heaven is likened unto A MAN which sowed GOOD SEED in HIS FIELD” (Matthew 13:24). That “man” is the Lord Himself, while the “good seed” represents the children of the Kingdom. The “field,” as He later explained, is the world. This is extraordinary. The Lord sowed good seed, not in someone else’s field, but in His own field. That tells you the world is His field and part of His Kingdom. It belongs to Him. No matter what we see in the world today, no matter how polluted it appears, the field still belongs to Jesus. The Bible says while men slept, the enemy came and sowed tares in the field. Tares are the children of the wicked one. The Lord Jesus explained clearly that the enemy who sowed these tares is the devil. So we understand why both good and evil are seen operating side-by-side in the world and even in places associated with God’s work. In verse 30, while still explaining the same parable, the Master said, “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” That harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels. At the appointed time, the tares will be gathered and burned, but the wheat, the righteous, will be gathered into His barn. Glory to God! This is so comforting. We’re the good seed, the children of the Kingdom, planted in the field of the world for a purpose. That’s why we can stand boldly anywhere and declare, “We own the world,” because it belongs to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and we’re His heirs. We’re in charge and in control; we’re here to shine and bear fruits of righteousness. No matter what opposition or darkness there is, remember this: the field is His and He planted you in it. The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has reaffirmed its position that a continuous and targeted “Christian genocide” is taking place across several regions of the country. The organisation expressed deep concern over what it described as systematic assaults on Christian communities, stressing that the pattern of violence shows clear evidence of religious persecution rather than isolated security breakdowns. According to PFN, Christian families, religious leaders, and community members have repeatedly been attacked, displaced, and in many cases killed, yet the federal authorities appear unresponsive. The body criticised what it sees as government indifference, arguing that the silence and inaction of security institutions suggest complicity or at least a troubling lack of political will to protect vulnerable populations. PFN emphasized that the consistent attacks on Christian-dominated communities cannot be dismissed as random acts of criminality. Instead, the fellowship insists that the frequency, organisation, and brutality of these assaults reflect a deeper agenda that the government has refused to properly acknowledge or confront. The Christian organisation further urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately overhaul the nation’s entire security framework. According to PFN, the current architecture has failed to prevent religiously motivated violence and has not provided adequate protection for communities facing repeated threats. PFN appealed to Tinubu’s administration to prioritise intelligence-driven security operations, strengthen community protection, and hold those responsible for attacks accountable, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation. They also encouraged the government to work with faith-based institutions, security experts, and affected communities to create long-term solutions that address the root causes of these killings. The fellowship reiterated that Nigeria cannot continue to overlook the lives lost and communities destroyed. They warned that the ongoing attacks could escalate into wider instability if urgent steps are not taken to address the situation.

A High Court in Lagos State, sitting in the Ikeja Judicial Division, has temporarily stopped the Lagos State Government and its agencies from continuing with ongoing demolition activities in parts of Oworonshoki, a community under the Kosofe Local Government Area. The interim order brings temporary relief to affected residents who have raised strong concerns over the legality and impact of the demolitions happening within their neighbourhood. The ruling was delivered by Justice L.A.M. Folami on Friday, granting a seven-day injunction following an urgent application initiated by four community members. These residents—Adeyemi Badejoko, Sheikh Tajudeen Omotayo Murobiu, Ayanboye Temitope, and Afolarin Olugbemiga John—filed the case on behalf of the Community Development Association (CDA) and occupants of Olabode Aluko Street, Iye-Ekiti Close, and Church Street in Oworonshoki. According to the suit, marked ID/10049GCMW/2025, the applicants argued that the demolitions were being carried out abruptly and without adequate prior notice, leaving several families distressed and displaced. To protect their homes and prevent further losses, the residents approached the court seeking immediate judicial intervention. Justice Folami, after reviewing the motion, issued an interim injunction restraining the Lagos State Government and all involved agencies from taking any further demolition-related actions within the affected communities until the next court hearing. The injunction is expected to remain in place for seven days, pending further legal proceedings.
