Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko honors his late mother through the Beatrice Buno Nwoko Foundation by distributing palliatives to over 500 widows in Delta State, spreading hope and joy this Christmas season.

Yuletide Kindness: Over 500 Widows Receive Palliatives in Delta

Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, Acting Commandant of the Nigerian Army Intelligence School in Lagos, has brought smiles to the faces of over 500 widows in Idumuje Ugboko and surrounding communities in Delta State. Through the Beatrice Buno Nwoko (BBN) Foundation Widows Outreach 2024, the event celebrated the season of giving by distributing essential items such as rice, wrappers, Maggi, salt, buckets, and cash worth millions of naira.

The outreach, held on December 24, 2024, was a heartfelt tribute to Brigadier General Nwoko’s late mother, Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko. The foundation was established in her honor by her children after her passing in 2022.

Speaking at the event, Brigadier General Nwoko shared that this year’s edition marks the second anniversary of the foundation, which aims to continue their mother’s legacy of compassion and generosity.

“Our late mother was a remarkable woman who raised all her children with strength and unwavering faith after the loss of our father in 1992. She believed in kindness, resilience, and leaving a legacy of integrity,” Nwoko said.

Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko, fondly remembered as a pioneer member of the United English Baptist Church, Kaduna, and a community leader in Idumuje Ugboko, was well-known for her kindness. “She was loved by all and cherished a good name above wealth,” Nwoko added.

A Legacy of Compassion

The event also featured Dr. Gabriel Ogbeche, Group Managing Director/CEO of Rain Oil Limited, who praised Nwoko’s efforts, stating, “He has shown that blessings should be shared. His dedication to honoring his mother’s memory through this outreach is inspiring.”

Dr. Ogbeche encouraged widows to draw inspiration from Mrs. Nwoko’s life, emphasizing resilience and dedication to raising successful children despite challenges.

Angela Umuna, the women leader and Omu of Idumuje Ugboko, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the widows. She thanked Brigadier General Nwoko and his family for their generosity, describing this as a memorable Christmas for the community.

The Beatrice Buno Nwoko Widows Outreach 2024 was attended by senior military officers, industry leaders, and prominent figures, including friends from the United States. The event underscored the power of giving during the Yuletide season and highlighted the enduring impact of Mrs. Nwoko’s legacy.

As Brigadier General Nwoko concluded his speech, he promised to sustain the outreach in memory of his mother, whose life was a testament to strength, kindness, and unwavering faith.
