U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly criticized Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett, referring to her as a “low intelligence individual” during an interview on NBC News.
Trump made the controversial statement on Sunday while speaking with Kristen Welker of NBC. During the conversation, the Republican figurehead commented on the Democratic Party’s current representatives.
“I can’t name one Democrat. I look at the Democrats, they have a new person named Crockett,” Trump said.
“I watched her speak the other day and she’s definitely a low-IQ person, and they say she is the future of the party,” he added.
“IQ politics is real. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”
Jasmine Crockett is an American attorney and lawmaker who currently represents Texas’s 30th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. She assumed office in January 2023 and is a member of the Democratic Party.
The 44-year-old congresswoman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 2003. She later pursued her legal education at the University of Houston Law Center, where she obtained a Juris Doctor degree in 2006.
