Sanwo-Olu Presents Staff of Office to Oba Abdurasak Akanni Musa, New Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has officially presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Oba Abdurasak Akanni Musa, the Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom in the Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Epe Division.

Oba Musa, a distinguished professional and former urban development planner, holds a master’s degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). His ascension marks a new chapter for Igbooye Kingdom, where his leadership is expected to foster growth and unity.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kayode Robert, handed over the Staff of Office on behalf of the governor during a ceremony held at the Epe Local Government Secretariat.

A Commitment to Development and Harmony

In his message, Governor Sanwo-Olu reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to equitable infrastructural development across Lagos State, particularly in the Epe Division. He lauded the contributions of traditional rulers, emphasizing their role in maintaining peace and driving progress within their communities.

“Your selection by the Kingmakers and the acceptance by your people are a testament to your capability to lead this kingdom toward prosperity,” said the governor, represented by Commissioner Robert. He urged the new monarch to champion unity and collaboration among royal leaders within and beyond the region.

Local Leaders and Community Support

The Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, represented by Vice Chairman Adesanya Lateef, also congratulated Oba Musa. He highlighted the monarch’s extensive experience, expressing confidence in his ability to propel Igbooye Kingdom and the Epe Division into an era of remarkable development.

“Your Royal Majesty’s expertise will undoubtedly serve as a catalyst for progress in Igbooye, Eredo LCDA, and Lagos State,” Akinloye stated. He encouraged all sons and daughters of Igbooye to rally behind their new king, emphasizing the importance of collective support in achieving peace, unity, and unprecedented progress for the historic kingdom.
