A presidency source has cast doubt on claims that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently held discussions with some members of the Lagos State House of Assembly concerning the leadership changes within the House.
According to circulating but unverified reports, Tinubu allegedly met with key political figures, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Kadri Hamzat, GAC leader Tajudeen Olusi, and several Assembly members, to deliberate on the removal of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.
However, when contacted for clarification, a source from the Presidency told Vanguard, “I am not sure Tinubu met with them.”
The Lagos State House of Assembly formally removed Speaker Mudashiru Obasa on January 13, 2025. The leadership transition has since sparked intense political discussions across Lagos.
